You guys are acting like 1 bad kid or even 1 good kid who makes 1 mistake can take down the entire program. If they are a symptom of a larger problem, you bet your ass it can take down a program. We are still experiencing the effects of a few bad seeds taking down a legendary coach and very powerful program. Don't be so naive.

No charges against Hyde
Yahoo's Charles Robinson is reporting that Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde is not expected to face charges for the alleged assault of a woman at a Columbus nightclub over the weekend.
Robinson, citing a source, said surveillance footage from the nightclub "appears to clear" Hyde because it reveals that he didn't make contact with the alleged victim:
The source said video shows Hyde speaking in the direction of the alleged victim just prior to her punching him in the head. The video then shows Hyde leaving the area and reaching back in the woman's direction in a non-confrontational manner, the source said. From the video, it doesn't appear Hyde ever made contact with the woman – either before or after she struck him, the source said. The incident happened early Saturday morning at a place called Sugar Bar 2, and the woman filed a report with police later that day. Hyde had been identified as a person of interest in the case. He was suspended from the Buckeyes yesterday pending the outcome of the police investigation.

I think Meyer is a great coach. Most do. Evan loves Meyer. I think Meyer is an outstanding football coach, too. I admire his ability to motivate his teams and I like the style of play he implements. But that doesn't mean he is any less of a lying asshole as a person. And by "most" I assume you are referring to Ohio State fans? If so, I would ask you to rewind back to 2009 and take a poll of Gators fans and their opinions of the man. Then take another poll of those same fans now. Wins cure everything but when things turn ugly, opinions change and I suspect you will see an awful lot of opinions changing in the Columbus area if my prediction of an impending demise of our program comes true in a couple of years. As for Evan... smart guy and one I wish would post here but really, who cares what he likes if he isn't here to share it? Stop name dropping. Oh please, Gator fans hate him now cause of the way he left. Talk about sour grapes. I named dropped cause I wanted to show I'm not alone.

mike, that's the big difference. most fans want what's good for the team. most of us who graduated from there want what's good for the school. and it's not usually win at any cost, when the cost involves the reputation and integrity of the university. mark scott tosu 81 That's why Rex Kern will always be revered as OSU's starting QB and Terrell Pryor will always cause revulsion. Among the Alums that is. My favorite buckeye w/o question. A different era, but IMHO he embodied everything I take pride in with my alma mater. And it goes much deeper than his 27-2 record as a qb. mark scott tosu 81

You know what, I'll go with Craig Krenzel.

I still remember him getting boo'd off the field vs Illinois back in '92, when as a frosh he fumbled twice inside the 3 yard line, one of them being run back for an illini td. there was no public whining or moping, he just went back to work. a deserving Heisman winner, he was a consummate pro rb, he returned to osu to complete his degree, and he's handled himself very well since his football days ended. mark scott tosu 81

Saw a blurb in the paper this morning that Little Prince Urban has banned Twitter accounts for Ohio State football players. It also noted now you will only be able to follow Meyers players the old fashioned way, by the police blotter. <g>

The story that keeps on twisting and turning. A reporter from NBC 4 in Columbus, while sitting at her dining room table in Westerville (LOL!), described on a piece of paper what she saw on the video in question. She claims the female took a swipe at Hyde and missed, Hyde then turned around and slapped back, hitting her. Obviously not the most reliable source and the report itself was amazingly comical, complete with her dog walking in the shot at one point, but it is clear that an awful lot of people rushed to judgment before knowing the facts. Some of the side of the girl and others on the side of Hyde yesterday when news broke that a surveillance tape existed. Braxton Miller even chimed in that some good news was coming out about Hyde. Maybe, maybe not. Guess we will just wait for the next erroneous report. Haven't heard much else about Roby, either which is odd considering how much attention has been paid to the Hyde story.

Saw over half of the questions that he had during media day were about his problems at UF. He will always be tied to that history.

Saw over half of the questions that he had during media day were about his problems at UF. He will always be tied to that history. true. no doubt that coaches get paid very, very well in today's world. they also work 70-80 hour weeks for at least 6 months out of the year, and a huge barometer of their performance, both in perception and reality, is tied to the actions of 18-22 year olds when their not at practice under the eyes of the coaching staff. lots of $$. tough tough job. not making excuses... those are the facts. whatever he did at uf, I hope he learned from that experience and is able to apply those tweaks now. I know that from the day he was hired in late 2011 thru mid-july 2013, there was not one arrest or off-field issue. in a 48 hr time frame this week, osu had 4. if that number turns into 31 over the next 4 years, then you have to think its something meyer is or isn't doing. if it doesn't? then over time the uf issues will have to be seen as an aberration... because he had no such behavior-related issues w/his players at bg or Utah. mark scott tosu 81

Not to nitpick but Storm Klein was arrested and dismissed from the team. He was ultimately allowed back on the team after the domestic violence charges were dropped but it was pretty messy for awhile right around this time last year. I only bring this up because some of the 31 arrests under Meyer at Florida resulted in the same thing happening... charges dropped, player reinstated, etc. but the arrest will still be noted on Meyer's "record" whenever this discussion comes up in the future. It almost sounded like I was defending him right there. Ugh. I need to go shower again...

Are you a closet Mormon or something?
