I… o!! Just got to seat. Winds are going to affect kicking game and deep passing. It is breezy and gray but dry. Definitely more iu fans here than I’ve ever seen for a football game which is cool. They’ll be waving white towels they brought along. Home crowd will be into this one from the outset. Still can get the 2nd half of um-iu out of my head. hoosiers’ offense was inept. Our d has the talent to equal or better that result. I’m going w 28-13 good guys. Go bucks! |

Getting ready to leave for a day of Christmas shopping with a bunch of women. Please pray for me. Not liking this game today. I'm not nervous which is making me nervous. Indiana is playing with house money, a ton of confidence, and they really have nothing to lose The loss of Seth is big, very big IMO Just get the W today. Could be by 1 point for all I care |

Great overall performance today....Howard made some clutch throws after the int....Downs big play on special teams, very smooth and Ginn-like running with that punt return...the front four put Rourke on his back along with key pressures...IU didnt attack our corners after the 1st quarter. 38-15. The CFP wont consider IU after today...IU coach Cignetti looked pissed that Day went for that last TD

the view from 24-b box... well, in the opening iu drive they went 70 yards in 11 plays to take a 7-0 lead. in Indiana's next 8 possessions thru the end of the 3rd qtr? 32 plays for 29 total yds. when the hoosiers took possession down 31-7 w/8:55 left in the game, they had just 101 yds of offense on 43 plays. our defense was outstanding today. 5 sacks that I remember. simon and j-t-t in particular were outstanding. knowles dialed up more blitz packages today then we've run all season. and once again, the bucks excelled at the end of the 1st half/beginning of the 2nd half. after thurman had howard's on target pass bounce off his hands for pick, we got a stop late in the 2nd qtr and iu's punter fumbled the snap, setting us up at the 7. easy td drive (to make up for getting stopped on 4th down inside the 2 earlier) to make it 14-7 at the break. indiana gets the 2nd half kickoff and goes 3 and out, thanks in part to a delay of game caused in large part due to the din of noise inside the shoe (don't know how it sounded on tv/radio, but the crowd was electric til midway thru the 4th when the game was in hand on that fg), and downs popped that punt return td. within 2 1/2 minutes bridging halftime, the game goes from 7-7 to 21-7. indiana only crossed the 50 3 times all day, the last 2 after being down 28-7 then 31-7. beautiful. on offense, the style of the game certainly was anything but a track meet, but I thought our o-line played real well, w/hinzman moving from guard back over to center and siereveld doing well at guard. howard was 14-14 passing to start the game, finding tate on some key passes on the opening td drive, and showing great touch on the 2 passes on the 1st scoring drive when it was 3rd/35 then 4th/10, then again on the td pass to egbuka. liked seeing smith get a touch on a jet sweep after not getting a lot of passes his direction with indiana cheating a safety to his side most of the game. finally, treveyon henderson. I love that guy. we didn't run super well today, tho' trey came close to popping a couple. after iu's last td to make it 31-15 and the attempted onside kick that went out of bounds, he popped one thru the middle and had a clear path to the end zone. but being the unselfish team player he is, instead of crusing in for 6 he slides down at the 2, giving up stats to (I thought) run out the clock. I was a little surprised that day chose to sneak howard twice instead of taking a knee (4 iu fans sitting behind me called it classlsss, to which I turned around asking if cignetti really said 'purdue sucks, and so do michigan and ohio state' or did he just toss a chair across the floor at assembly hall that night? lol) a few months back-lol), but what trey did in that moment showed how much he's matured as a player. and now, attention turns to next saturday. the ugly hats finally got bowl eligible today, putting up nearly as many pts on n'western (50) as they've scored the previous 4 weeks (63). they'll be loose, having no pressure (since they have nothing else on the line) and expecting the bucks to have the tight sphincters. one thing tosu had done all season is not panic when they've fallen behind early (we've trailed in 5 of the last 6 games at one point or another). i... can't... wait. |
