JW is the real deal. He looked great in the spring game and is smart kid who's learned the system in the year that he's been there. The schedule is lined up for him and FSU to have a good year.

Granted, it was just Pitt, but Pitt isn't Furman or Chattanooga. and IMO, they're at least an average team for a BCS conference. So I'll take it a step further. So far I thought FSU has shown us the best offense of any team that played last weekend. Maybe Pitt does sucks bigtime, but Winston looked incredibly good for a first start, and on the road?....color me "amazed".....

FSU and Winston were in mid-season form and looked more prepared and ready to play than any team I saw in week one. I wish VT was on their schedule because I'd like to see them play a good defense, which I don't think they'll face until the game with UF. I'm telling you, this Winston kid is gonna be huge! He's smart, level-headed, great family support, great sense of humor, not cocky, and still growing! Damn, I can't believe BAMA missed out on this guy. He grew up a huge BAMA fan just 45 minutes from the Tide campus. His love of baseball was the tipping point that caused he and his dad to choose the 'noles. I don't see FSU losing a game on their schedule. Clemson's defense is as bad as Pitt's. This is finally the year that they get over the whole "losing one they shouldn't" thing.

Still, when they weren't he was able to thread some needles while under pressure.

JW is set to put up some HUGE numbers imo.

Ok, I just looked again and Miami has a defense that can challenge the FSU WR's as well. So that's two good defenses Winston will face and ten terrible ones. Lets not forget though, the kid can run the ball like crazy as well. Early heisman favorite if you ask me. It was just one game, I know, but he's been looking this good for years.

I guess I'll have to wait until the 14th (FSU's next game) to see any growing pains...
Props to our receivers too. The starting 3, Greene, Benjamin, and Shaw are as good as anyone else's starting 3. Certainly part of the reason they were wide open is because those guys are good.
P.S. Another shocker....FSU threw multiple TD passes to a tight end! What next? Dogs and cats...living together!?!

UF wanted Jalen Ramsey badly:
No. 6 Florida State safety out for the season The Associated Press
Published: Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 7:26 p.m.
Last Modified: Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 7:26 p.m.
Florida State junior safety Tyler Hunter has had surgery to repair a bulging disc in his neck and will miss the rest of the season.
Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher made the announcement after Tuesday's practice. Fisher says Hunter is expected to make a full recovery and will be back in 2014.
Hunter had eight tackles and an interception in three games this season. He is able to take a medical redshirt and would have two years of eligibility remaining.
The sixth-ranked Seminoles are off this week before playing at No. 3 Clemson on Oct. 19. The Tigers host to Boston College on Saturday.
The Seminoles will continue to use Jalen Ramsey at safety in place of Hunter. Ramsey has 22 tackles and an interception as a freshman this season.
