I went to the Whataburger next to Cordova Mall for lunch today. Derrick Brooks was there getting a large order to go for his family and friends at the same time I was ordering my usual. Per normal, people in Pensacola don't bother people of celebrity status. My guess is the people in the restaurant didn't know who he was. We were both getting napkins and straws at the same time. I nearly threw a Go Gators! at him before deciding to leave him alone.
Derrick proved me wrong about his career. He had a great career at Washington High, but I thought he was too small to play major college ball. Over the summer between high school and going to FSU, I worked out around Derrick at the Downtown Gym that used to be on Cervantes Street. At the time Derrick looked like he weighed about 210 soaking wet. He took his speed and size and made a special game for himself. He still looks good too except for some graying in his facial hair.

What's the latest on Dalvin Cook? He's preparing to run for 176 yards and 3 touchdowns next Thursday evening. He isn't considered a suspect and his involvement from the situation back in July is that it is believed that he knows one of the men who is considered a suspect. I doubt his playing status is in jeopardy because he knows someone who did something illegal. Unless the fact situation changes, I think we'd see him playing.

I'm hearing he was possibly with his cousin, and that it was his cousin, not Cook, who waved the gun around. I don't think there's much to it and I'll be surprised if Davin faces any discipline. He does need some training on how to avoid being around anyone that might get themselves involved in situations such as these. In fact every player at every major program should be having this kind on counseling on a weekly basis.

In fact I didn't even name the dude by name, I just said his case was being swept under the rug. But since you brought it up.... "You two FSU goobers are so ready to jump down anyone's throat who doesn't just automatically buy a Noles version of events on everything. The FSU thugs are lying, raping, gun-slinging, thiefs who are being protected by FSU, city of Tallahassee, and state officials. The Jimbo Fisher 30 for 30 episode is being written in real-time right before our eyes. Pathetic......just like you!!

"our version".....you started the topic by calling Cook a Thug and accusing the TPD of sweeping the case under the rug"!

"our version".....you started the topic by calling Cook a Thug and accusing the TPD of sweeping the case under the rug"!Let's just say that there appears to be an abnormal amount of thuggery occurring in Tallahassee involving FSU football players, and as Trn has admitted, the TPD hasn't exactly handled things in a stellar manor. At this point every FSU player needs to be taking extra precautions to avoid being around anyone that might cause them to be placed in a bad light.

That still does not give you the right to "make up shit about players" that have not done anything WRONG...as for thuggery at FSU.... BAMA has had it's fair share as well. Selective memory apparently serves you well. Stick to BAMA , refrain from the childish trash talking that you delight in, and this board would be a much better place IMO.

Many wonder if Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has played his last game in college football.
By: CBS Sports January 2, 2015
PASADENA, Calif. (CBS Sports) -- Many wonder if Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has played his last game in college football. Winston could enter the 2015 NFL Draft, where he is projected to be a top-five pick, but has previously said he plans to play one more season of baseball and return for the 2015 season.
After Florida State's loss to Oregon in the Rose Bowl, Winston was again asked about his future. For now, despite the growing sentiment from others that he will leave Tallahassee, the company line is that Winston wants to play baseball this spring and return for one more year on the gridiron.
“I'm not focused on that at all," Winston said, according the Orlando Sentinel, when asked about considering the 2015 NFL Draft. "I'm looking forward to next season and playing baseball. So I'm just trying to get better every day.”
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher did not have any insight regarding Winston's decision, only adding that he, and FSU fans everywhere, must "wait and see what the future holds."
Both of CBSSports.com's most recent mock drafts have Oregon's Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston going No. 1 and No. 2 in the first round.
