Walt, don't kid yourself. Stanford is going to spank the Trojans. Stanford is deep and talented. SC is, well uhhh, talented. The Cardinal will wear the Trojans down during the second half and put the game away by a couple of scores. The home crowd won't be leaving happy.
If Coach O has to win the game to get the job, SC had better still be looking.

20-17 SC - I was wrong, the crowd went home happy.
Stanford plays the style of offensive football Will Muschamp wants to run at UF. I don't like it. Here is to hoping 2014 will be Muschamps last season with UF.

Here is to hoping 2014 will be Muschamps last season with UF. Ironic that Stanford plays the kind of football that SECFan used to say was what "real" football was all about. Now, a top 10 SEC team wins games while their D gives up over 400 yards in passing (Auburn yesterday) which is what Pac12(10) teams used to do, and it's all good, while when it happened back then, SECFan pronounced Pac Ds "soft". My how things change! Meanwhile, USC's strength all season has been their front 7 on D. It's been the anchor of the team. So, if there was any style that a #5 team brought to The Coliseum that USC had a chance against, it was a Stanford style. BOOM!! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' 'BOUT !!! Great game. I ended up watching the end of the game in the legendary Papadakis Taverna in Pedro, now with a new name and different owners and a lot less hoppin', but the game was still on, Trojan fans were still there, and the glassware still exploded when thrown against the wall. This morning, Stanfordfan is singing this lament to Trojans throughout the land, "...shot through the heart, and your to blame!..."

No Walt, I want both defense and offense.
UF plays great defense considering the injuries and even with the injuries. The Gator D played their tails off last night. The only team to get the better of the Gator D has been Missouri. They quit playing against the tigers and that was disappointing.
On the other hand, the UF O has been a liability whether healthy of not for three years now. It's a trend that must end in 14 for Muschamp to keep his job. With just average O production, the Gators would be a dangerous team.

But 5 years ago, SECFan would have said, "We need to get back to ol' rock-em sock-em football and stop trying to finesse teams and just pound the ball." (just like Stanford tries to do). Now you seem to be saying, "I can't stand it when we just try to pound it the way SEC teams used to try to do." Bottom line in all this for we fans: If UF was 10-0 and averaged 11 points a game, you'd be all in. So would I.

Agreed....To me, the 2 things that stood out the most from that game was that Shaw kept over-throwing his receivers and that the Gators D was TUFF, TUFF !!!! side note: Cocks were fav 2 win by 13+ .....Oooooooops.....

Bottom line in all this for we fans: If UF was 10-0 and averaged 11 points a game, you'd be all in. So would I. Before the Sugar Bowl last season, UF was 11-1 and I was all in. However, it wasn't pretty on offense. UF won ugly and it was under appreciated by the media and the fans. I like a hard nosed offense running the ball, but UF hasn't been able to pass the ball with any consistency dating back 4 years to Johnny Brantley being injured in early October of 2010. I'm not sure what I'm looking for has anything to do with finesse as it's more of a balanced approach. What I see in Stanford is a run first team that isn't as dangerous passing the ball. That's not what I want UF to become. I think I was definitely spoiled by Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer. As much as they will be remembered for the Fun N Gun and the Spread Option, neither will be remembered for the balanced approach they used to get outstanding performance out of the offense.

This is your worst prediction since September of 2011, when you told me to hurry up and sell my stocks and buy gold... USC Front Seven Eats ETGator For Lunch

Hogan is not Andrew Luck, and IMO, the Tree receivers aren't special, as in "#5 in the nation" special. Also, Shaw has seemingly gone away from passing to the TE out of the run formations, (perhaps a talent issue, or did the USC LB-scheme take it away?) Either way, it hurt their offense.

It's days like today that allow me to indulge in THIS daydream.
UCLA beats ASU next week, Arizona, amazingly, beats ASU in their rivalry game to overcome the head to head tiebreaker, USC beats Colorado and Coach O finishes the season 7-1 by beating the Bruins, and BINGO.....USC will play in the Pac12CCG.
Tall order, I know, but 6 weeks ago, we all wondered if USC would even be IN a bowl game.
This is why I love college football.
