Bryan, I feel for you. UF had 17 season ending injuries last season. Hopefully, this isn't a thing to come for LSU the way it was for UF. Too many injuries will leave any team without the ability to play man down and man up to maintain high level performance.
Insofar as LSU DT is concerned, if I understand the article correctly, LSU is down to one DT with playing experience and 3 RFR DTs who have never played a down. That's not optimal and especially so with what will be a run happy SEC this season due to all of the new starting QBs.
UF has 2 DTs with good playing experience, 2 RFR with zero playing experience, 2 hybrid SDE/DTs one with significance experience and the other with little experience, and 2 true freshmen who will likely redshirt unless injuries dictate they must play. I'd prefer the 2 deep all be experienced full time DTs with the third team DTs available if needed. I don't like UF using the hybrid SDE/DTs at DT unless it's obvious passing situations.

"Fornette is 3 games into his sophomore season and he shouldn't play at all against the stiff LSU is bringing in for a beating this weekend. It would be a class move if you'd allow his body of work speak for itself when his LSU career is over before declaring him the best of all time on a repeated basis before it is warranted. I'm sure this board concedes that Leonard Fornette is a fine person and a great RB."
I'm sure Les will pull him after he gets 200 yards, which should be sometime in the first half.

The Heisman stat building isn't necessary. There is no reason to risk injury to Fornette after LSU's first or second score. That will be the 1st quarter.
UF played a bad Ball State team in the late 90s. The Gators starting MLB was season ending injured on the last play of the first half. The Gators were already up big and there was no reason why the scrubs shouldn't have been playing. It was a season changing injury for the Gators as the D was softer against the run without him.
Les Miles is a smart coach. I don't think he'll be interested in padding stats or putting on a show against a lousy opponent.

I was just being funny. I'm pretty sure he has no intention of playing Fournette for long. 10 or 15 touches and LF is probably gone. 15 would probably put him over the 100 yard mark. From listening to Miles, he is more concerned about cleaning up the Tigers' penalty problems. They should have beaten Syracuse a lot worse, but two TD's were called back by penalties, and flags also kept several Syracuse drives alive.
Anyone who thinks LSU is one dimensional is nuts, but the EMU game will still be a good time for Harris to hone his passing skills a bit better. If they want to, the Tigers can gain more yards passing than rushing this weekend. They can also let the RB's with less time get in some carries to have them better prepared as backups, and to build their skills for next year.
Listening to Les' presser last night, he praised EMU a good bit, and I don't think he is looking past them. He DID admit to sitting on the ball against Syracuse once he knew the game was in hand. Having said that, LSU might look like shit Saturday. They still have a tendency to relax and let teams who have no chance stay in the game. LSU doesn't have that "out for blood, kill 'em, stomp 'em in the ground" mentality, and I doubt if you will see them win any game by 25, 30 or 40 points, unless the other team is totally inept.

I think you'd be better off and more entertained if you recorded the LSU game and watched the Ole Miss at UF game. LSU is going to destroy an EMU team that isn't as good as its 1-3 record.

I'm low tech and have no recording capability --- not even a VCR any more! But my remote does have a channel recall on it.
The good thing is, I will have seen UGA beat the bumpkins by then, so I won't have to add that game to my flipping frenzy.

Fournette is the SEC Offensive Player of the MONTH, for September. No surprise there.
Offensive player of the month: Leonard Fournette, LSU
We’re running out of ways to describe Fournette’s September, but it’s safe to say he has taken the sport by storm, rushing for an FBS-leading 210.3 yards per game and scoring eight touchdowns in three games. The toughest contests on LSU’s schedule are still ahead. It will be beyond impressive to see Fournette post these kinds of numbers against Alabama or Ole Miss. But for now, he’s on pace to have one of the best rushing seasons in SEC history. -- David Ching
Runner-up: Nick Chubb, Georgia

I was listening to Jim Rome on the car radio after lunch. It seems there has been talk about Leonard Fournette sitting out his junior season because he doesn't want to risk injury.
Bryan, you have a lot more to be concerned about with Fournette than just worrying about whether he should play or not against mighty Eastern Michigan. If he's already worrying about injury before going into the NFL, he might not run as hard in big games. I'll let you know what I think after the Gators get through chomping on him on the 17th.

Fournette is NOT worrying about injury. All this crap about him sitting out was started by TALKING HEADS. Leonard Fournette has never said he would take it easy, or sit it out. Maybe you should look up HIS comments about this instead of listening to idiots who never played the game, or were very bad at it. It is those people who fear him on behalf of THEIR teams who want him to lighten up or not play.

Anyone who thinks LSU is one dimensional is nuts,------Deputy Fife Read more: aolcfboutcasts.proboards.com/thread/7554/louisiana-state-tigers?page=2#ixzz3nMIPXqBvCall me nuts You are nuts. It is YOUR team that holds their breath every time your inept QB's throw a pass. They are so inaccurate that they are lucky that their passes can even hit the ground!
bama's secondary is second rate, and Harris will pick them apart IF THE Tigers need to pass.
There may be 1 or 2 teams out there who can slow him down a little, but bama is not one of them. And no team can stop him.
