The last time UF faced a RB getting this much national acclaim was when the Gators traveled to Auburn in 1985 to play against Bo Jackson. I'd be happy to get a repeat of that game.

'Nuff said .........  LSU as a TEAM doesn't get the national attention or respect that UF, UGA and bama do. Time to change that.

You watch too many talking heads - UF is 65th in the nation, unranked in the polls, and Phil Steele who is never wrong didn't rank UF in his top 55. That turned out accurately didn't it? Get the picture? Besides, respect is earned with performance. LSU has a chance to earn that performance with a tough backend schedule.
AU and MSU have underperformed so LSU's challenges are still in front of them facing 4 ranked teams, Florida; Alabama; Ole Miss; Texas A&M. Arkansas always seems to play LSU close. Western Kentucky will be a win, but isn't a gimme tune up for Alabama. That's close to being a trap game sandwiched between Florida and Alabama.
Bottom line, LSU controls their own destiny and can punch their ticket into the playoffs with wins. It really doesn't matter what the talking heads are saying does it?

It WAS a very good game, and it's only 1 loss for y'all. But we've already discussed all this so there's not much more I can add here.

The thumb! Yes, #5 looms. Derrius Guice (#5), a freshman, is going to have fun running thru bama's D. So will #7, Leonard Fournette, And let's not forget #6, Brandon Harris, who will pass and run the Tigers to victory. And for good measure, we have #4, Nick Brossette, also a freshman, who will stomp a few bama defenders too. Let's remember #44 LSU's crushing FB J.D. Moore, who if he is healed, will plow bumpkins out of the easy for the guys carrying the ball.
But hey, why let the RB''s have all the fun? Next up we have WR's #8Trey Quinn, #9 John Diarse, #15 Malachi Dupre, #83 Travin Dural, and as a bonus if he has healed, #81 6'7" TE Colin Jeter.

What crap from last year? I generally only mention prior seasons when I'm discussing dynasties. Although I do vaguely remember posting about how BAMA stomped fournot and lsu into the dirt last season. It's relevant because that same fournot player will be going against an even better front seven this season...probably the best front seven in the nation. I'll even factor in that fournot might have improved as well, although it's been hard to tell since he's mostly only gone up against some of the nation's absolute worst defenses. |
