Whine, whine, whine. What difference does it make? Florida teams, other than FSU, which is really located in southern Alabama, are unique in that we are down here in the bottom corner or the country. What is it from Gainesville to the University of Arkansas, or Kentucky? Eight hundred to a thousand miles? Try drawing a radius from the U of Washington out a thousand miles and see how many of their opponents fall outside that arc. Do one for Columbus the same way. I checked the OSU schedule for the past several years and yall haven't exactly been racking up the frequent flyer miles. Are you f-ing high?!?!? Ohio St since 2002 has traveled to Washington, Texas, NC State, USC, Miami FL, Cal Over the next 10 we are going to Virginia Tech, Navy, Oklahoma, Texas, TCU, North Carolina, Oregon, Boston College Get a clue Well CDub, what can I tell you. I said 800 to 1000 miles, so rule out NCSt (less than 500 miles from Columbus). So that give you five trips outside the arc I suggested in the last eleven years, or one every couple of years. You think that qualifies as racking up the frequent flyer miles?

Florida hasn't needed to do it with FSU permanent and Miami ever so often. UF has a unique situation with 2 ooc instate schools that have done exceedingly well over the last 30+ years.
Now that Miami is off the schedule, UF can pick up a good ooc game so long as the SEC doesn't go to 9 games. UF is unofficially scheduled for a future game with Michigan to be played in Miami Gardens. That game will likely take place if the SEC doesn't expand the schedule. With the playoff, it may happen anyway to ensure a high degree of schedule difficulty for the playoff selection committee.
In the meantime, the bitching on UF's schedule can continue.

Ok...but everybody already knows that the SEC is going to a nine-game schedule so I'm not sure the point of the post.

Duh! To say UF vs Michigan may happen with an SEC 9 game schedule or not.

Lemme take this from a different angle, ET, and I'm guessin' you'll agree with this.... This isn't just about UF. This is about college football. Back in the 90s, when USC sucked and FSU was killer, they played a H&H and IMO, it was really great to see, even though USC lost. I'd never seen FSU, so it was a treat. USC fans got to see a premier team and measure our talent to theirs. I loved seeing the games. Point is, college football suffers when UF plays Squidunk Tech at home every year. It's bad for the game.

It's bad for the game. Sometimes its not about the game . In todays world its about the $$$$$. Both schools make more money playing in Jax. Almost a million more in 2 years than if it were home and home. Even the UGA athletic dept agreed to an extention of contract with Jax. And the home game for Miami the Gators have to travel 4 hours by bus(I think they flew though). Thats taking the turnpike , which goes diagonally across fl. If they went to I95 and south Or I75 south and Gator Alley east it would be almost 5 and 1/2 hours. How far away from campus can other shcools , besides cal schools, can any team go 5 1/2 hours from their home town and still saty in state?

Problem is, I'm self employed....if I don't work, I don't eat....and if I don't eat I won't have the strength to make my picks....so make up your mind! Do I pick when I can get to it, or do I do my work so that I can eat so that I can pick? It's a tough decision.............

Take your eleven years example and multiple by twelve games a year. Then divide that by your five games in that time frame and you are looking at about 3 and a half percent of your games in that time frame being outside your immediate circle. And that is my point.
