the view from 312... well, from being up 44-39 early in the 2nd half... msu scored 12 straight and the game had the feel that it was sparty's to win. osu had lost its shooting touch, having just 1 3-pointer, to msu's 8. but somehow osu found it's touch to make 5 3's in the last 10:00 or so. just in time, because we completely lost our touch at the line. 19-31 for the game, and i think we went just 6-16 in the 2nd half. we could have locked this game up and we kept opening the door for sparty. payne, who was a nightmare to guard, had pretty much dominated the game, harris had nailed a couple 3's. but this buckeye squad continued to scrap. we had 6 steals in the last 5-6:00, and craft did yet another non-scorebook hustle play, jumping on a loose ball and calling time out. of course, we missed the ft's, but it was enough for the win. i don't know how it came across on tv, but the crowd at the schott was the best of the season. long ovations in the pregame for aaron and lenzelle. the effort this team gave today was impressive. they'll go as long as their shooting touch carries them. which worked today. barely. mark scott tosu 81 Seemed to me that there was an awful lot of standing around, not moving without the ball. Seemed on the two AC TOs I saw, he waited for someone to move, and when no one did, he tried to take matters into his own hands. He also needs to find his spot on the floor, from 15-20 ft, and concentrate on finding that rhythm and shot where he can make it most of the time, and then do that at the start of every game. Sparty looked to jam up the passing lanes everytime he started his drives.
msu plays good help d, which slowed down aaron's drives in the 2nd half. i agree that he needs to have some confidence in his jumper... he didn't today, taking just one outside shot that i recall, in the 1st half. but it was gratifying to see osu make 3 or 4 3's to get us close coming down the stretch. and keeping sparty scoreless for nearly the last 5:00 of the game? priceless. mark scott tosu 81

The D seemed to be the inspiration all night long.

ESPN still has Ohio St a 6 seed, CBS has Ohio St a 5 seed. If we lose to Purdue I think we will be 6-8. If we beat Purdue im going 5-6 seed.

Warren Nolan has you as a 5 seed as well.
The CBS bracket with tOSU bracketed with UF. I'd like to see Scottie Wilbekin and Aaron Craft go head to head. They are two of the best PGs in the nation.

Since we own you now in basketball, I would love that. Just kidding. As a card-carrying Gator Hater, I don't want any part of this Florida team. Not this year.

I'm still trying to figure out how we won that game. anyway. The win only helped a little bit. Nebraska beat Wisconsin so they got the 4 seed, Ohio St is the 5 seed. We play Purdue to open it up. if we get past them, it will vs Nebraska in the next round. it's a good draw for osu. we're better than purdue and better than unl. if we play like that, should get um in the semis and i like that matchup. plus we're playing early games rather than the late starts, which means more rest. just need to put the ball in the hoop w/some consistency. mark scott tosu 81

Here's a little interesting stat.
American U just won the Patriot league title and the auto NCAA bid.
That makes, out of the 12 teams so far who have qualified, 3 of them, Ohio St has played and beat this year.
American U, North Dakota St, and Delaware. All won their conference tournament

illinois comes all the way back from 11 down in the 2nd half to take the lead vs um, only to give up a bunny w/:08 left, and miss a bunny at the buzzer to lose by 1, 64-63. osu-unl next...
