Well if that's your tone...then pardon me, but f-word you. It takes me a shitload longer to put it together than for you to make your picks...for that reason my convenience take precedent over yours. You're exactly right...I don't have to do this. But I do, both for myself and the 18 other people besides you and I who play. But if I am, it is going to be on my terms with due regard to fairness for everyone.

I'd rather you just say thank you...and be on your way.

I ought to consider franchising this pick'em game. To think we needed a special rule permitting pregnant women, or partners of pregnant women to provide picks later than the normal deadline to account for labor and delivery...in March. That's how serious this has become.

By the way, these are the early spreads for the Spring Game Pick'em. I wanted them out early so everyone has plenty of time:

Alabama +2 at Alabama in Tuscaloosa
FSU +3 1/2 at FSU in Tallahassee
UF +25 at Florida in Gainesville
Ohio State +1 at OSU in Columbus

Actually you made the rule saying that wouldn't be an excuse (wife pregnant, etc..). Thats why I had a problem with it. I wasn't speaking for just myself. I figured a lot of people would've had a problem with a rule that says if something to that effect (wife in labor, family emergency, cut off your finger, etc..) you take an 0-12 for the weekend. I'm shocked no one else did.

i'll stop being a dick canoe when you stop being 1st class jack ass.

I thought it would be very clear that my examples were sarcastic hyperbole....I didn't think I would have to explain that if your wife were REALLY in labor you'd get a break. Or if you REALLY cut off your finger you'd get a break. Nobody else said anything because they recognized it for the joke that it was. You, on the other hand, got your panties in a twist and then gave me a hard time for the free service I provide.

I don't care if I'm showered with thanks and gift baskets (although one might be nice)...but I'm damn sure not going to stand by and be insulted. This is a game. Everyone is welcome to play, but nobody has to. Hell, if nobody played....I'd be top douche every year.

If you can't play because you're out of the country or your wife is in labor....I'd be a pretty shitty guy (and the group would be as well) if we weren't understanding and accommodating. You've caught a lot of shit in the past for some of your political views....so have a lot of people.

But honestly, when it has come down to a personal tragedy or reason for joy...everyone, regardless of what has happened in the past...is usually supportive entirely. There is no way this contest would ever be any different.

I don't have HBO so I didn't see it but I guess the Meyer interview on Real Sports was pretty interesting last night.
