Decent times in Wiskyland. UW in the Rose Bowl, again. UW-W in the Stag Bowl to be the NCAA Div III Champ, again. UW Women in the Champ Game for Volleyball.
Recruiting went well, as they reloaded on OLmn and OLBs. A cpl of 6'7" tackles that'll play in the 320s+, a cpl of more 6'6" and a cpl more 6'5". All very athletic and talented. Feed them and coach em up.

Good news today for Wisky. They picked up a high 4* RB from NJ, who announced today at the US Army AA Bowl. Jalen Berger selected Wisky from a group of offers that included UCLA, LSU, Bama, TOSU, MSU, & Meatchicken. He will join a group of 4* OL this yr and a cpl of 4* OL from last yr who redshirted. All of whom will join a group of roadgraders from this yrs team who are rs frshmn, soph and jr. JT announcing he was going pro probably helped. He is just the latest in a thread of stud tailbacks from the Garden State to commit to the Badgers since Ron Dayne burst onto the scene in the late 1990’s. Berger will follow the steps of Dayne, Anthony Davis, Corey Clement, and most recently Jonathan Taylor, to come from New Jersey and opt to run behind the Wisconsin offensive line.
Should pump this yrs ranking to 25. As an aside, early '21 class includes a cpl of more 4* 6'7" OLmn commits.

Well maybe they will have some QBs in Wiskyland next year. www.buckys5thquarter.com/2022/12/17/23514417/wisconsin-badgers-football-inside-oklahoma-qb-nick-evers-decision-to-transfer-to-wisconsinAnd that Fickell is changing the Wisky script going dual threat. Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers struck once again, securing a commitment from former Oklahoma quarterback Nick Evers on Saturday, significantly bolstering their depleted quarterback room. Evers, a four-star quarterback in the Class of 2022, threw just one pass this past season before entering the transfer portal. Following his commitment, Evers spoke to Bucky’s 5th Quarter on his decision to join the Badgers. Evers applauded both Fickell and new offensive coordinator Phil Longo as reasons for his decision, adding that he believes Wisconsin is a “sleeping giant”. “The ability to come in and be part of something special was very exciting for me. I believe in Coach Fickell and Coach Longo and truly think we’re about to wake a sleeping giant here,” said Evers. As for what stood out about Fickell in his recruitment of Evers to Wisconsin, the quarterback emphasized trust and the resume that the former Cincinnati coach has compiled. “TRUST! He just gives you a great vibe [and] you just want to work hard for him! Clearly, he’s built great teams and taken them to the playoffs so there’s no reason to think we can’t do the same here! Evers’s mindset is clear: he wants to win championships, and the young quarterback is ready to put the work in to succeed. “To win championships is the goal,” Evers said. “We gotta do our part, but I know everyone is ready to get to work.” While the Badgers landed one of the top quarterbacks in Evers, they may not be done adding at the position. However, the potential addition of another transfer doesn't faze the former Oklahoma quarterback, who embraces the competition and is ready to work as a Badger. “I never worry about that kind of stuff! Let’s go compete and grow together!” Evers comes to Wisconsin with four years of remaining eligibility and now joins Myles Burkett and Cole LaCrue as the quarterbacks under scholarship for the Badgers in 2023 for the moment. The dual-threat quarterback intends to early enroll at Wisconsin and participate in spring practices. With Evers and new offensive coordinator Phil Longo, an Air Raid proponent, the Badgers’ offensive identity appears to be changing towards more of an explosive, balanced approach, shying away from the traditional Wisconsin look. Now, Evers will have four years of eligibility remaining after his redshirt freshman season. The 6’3, 190-pound dual-threat quarterback has been on Fickell’s radar for several years now, as the former Cincinnati coach offered Evers a scholarship during his time with the Bearcats.

This Badger thanks TOSU for both. It was clear the old way in Wisky fb was dying. I see Fick as leading them to compete at the championship level. He’ll recruit talent and toughness. A new beginning perhaps to take it one step beyond BA. A 55 yr journey for me. A journey of hope.

Now, the Badgers have five quarterbacks in their 2023 room: Mordecai, returning sixth-year senior Chase Wolf, true freshman Myles Burkett, freshman transfer Nick Evers, and incoming freshman Cole LaCrue. With the addition of mordecai, Wolf may just hang them up. He was going to be, at best, a backup anyway. Though a 6th yr senior he had the experience of a freshman. And Myles Burkett may move on.

Hype is high in Madison due to the new transformational, for Wisky, coaches and influx of transfer talent. They will have a real QB, actually a cpl of real QBs. Talent across the board. One writer's way too early crystal ball has Wisky losing one close game to TOSU in the reg season and again in the Champ game.
Checked the schedule and yes the '23 game between the two will be in Madison on Saturday October 28th. Almost certainly that'll be a night game, between two undefeated Conference leaders. Oct 16, 2010 reincarnate, when a #1 TOSU visited? Sadly, I think I will be coming back from Italy that day. Dang. Madison, B1G game w TOSU, both undefeated, Saturday night, a full moon and a Halloween weekend? Madison will be rockin and howlin. #1 TOSU V #4 Wisky. Double dang.

So the new look air raid offense had its debut in Madison. 314 yrds rushing and four rushing TDs. Two 100+ yrd RBs.
Maybe just the threat of it is enough.
