Defensive end Christian LaCouture and outside linebacker/end Isaiah Washington have been ruled out for the season, a source confirmed to The Advocate.
LaCouture, a senior, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during a non-contact drill Sunday, and Washington, a sophomore, suffered serious ligament damage as well.

I hate these kinds of non-contact injuries. I wish both players full and complete recoveries.

NOW I wish LSU opened the season with a cupcake instead of Wisconsin.

NOW I wish LSU opened the season with a cupcake instead of Wisconsin.Preseason camp didn't get to two-a-days before LSU lost a 1 and a 2 off the DL depth chart. LSU has good depth so some young players will step up to replace them. LSU recruits good so it's man down and man up at this point.
I just hope for LSU that it doesn't turn into a season ending injury epidemic like what happened at UF in 13. It seems like every week several 1s or 2s on the depth chart would "tweak" something according to Muschamp, but when the injury update came out on Wednesday the players were lost for the season. That's the season when it was great to be a 4 & 8er, UF's first losing season since 1979. UF finished the season against FSU with less than 60 ship players available to play. I've never seen anything like it before or since. I wouldn't wish that on any team, even UGALY.

Football practice is a tricky game, as I can personally attest. I had my knee wrecked by my own guy in spring training, but luckily recovered by fall. You HAVE to go full speed at times to prepare, yet doing that sets you up for injuries. I kinda think that like death, if it's your time to be injured, it's gonna happen and you can't stop it. We see LaCouture was injured in NON contact. No way to stop that.
I think it is great that Tiger Stadium is still natural grass. (Les Miles likes it too, at snack time. ) Artificial turf is NOT good for football players and should be banned.

There must be something up with season ending knee injuries. UF's Antonio Riles RJR OG injured his knee in Monday practice, will have surgery, and will miss the season. He was slated to play in UF's OL 2 deep this season.

Lsu probably has considerably more depth than Muschamp had at Uf at the time. I'm sure they will be fine

Week one and UF is down two players:
Another Florida football player has suffered an injury in fall camp.
True freshman safety Quincy Lenton had surgery on Wednesday to repair a broken foot. He announced the injury on his Twitter account.
UF coach Jim McElwain said Monday that Lenton, who may have played this year, will be a “pretty good” player in time.
With Lenton out, Florida is left with Chauncey Gardner, Marcell Harris, Marcus Maye, Jeawon Taylor and Nick Washington at the safety position. Maye and Washington are expected to start.
Earlier Wednesday, news broke that the Gators lost offensive guard Antonio Riles to a torn ACL. He is expected to miss the 2016 season.
EDIT: Recovery time for Quincy Lenton is 5 to 8 weeks

Another UF player lost for the season. The only silver lining is 2 of the 3 are true freshmen who would have redshirted:
Another Florida player suffers season-ending injury
Zach Abolverdi
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Injury has sidelined a second member of Florida’s secondary. True freshman cornerback C.J. McWilliams has a torn ACL and will miss the season.

Does anyone know yet if it is the same knee. If it is the same knee, Dr. Andrews may have been wrong in his assessment and tOSU may have been right to medically cut him. If it's the other knee, injuries like this are part of the game.
UF has already lost two players for the season due to knee injuries. The most serious is an experienced OG who would have been in the 2 deep.

Fwiw, the docs certainly could have told him that his knees (plural) were not healthy enough to play, even tho only one of them had been seriously injured at the time. Don't know if that was the case here, but neither do you.

FSU QB Sean Maguire injured his foot and will have surgery to insert a screw. Jimbo Fisher says he'll be out 4 weeks and could be back by game two or game three. FSU will start a redshirt freshman, Deondre Francois, vs. Ole Miss in Orlando. While Maguire is a game manager at best, he will be a big loss for FSU based on experience alone.
UF's safety that had a screw inserted on Thursday had his recovery time estimated at 5 to 8 weeks. It'll be interesting to see how long the two players end up being out. If 8 weeks, the players would miss 5 games.

Don't know if that was the case here, but neither do you. I remember he had MULTIPLE knee injuries, but I don't recall if it was one or both knees. I hope the kid recovers well enough to walk without pain or a limp, but then again, maybe he should have listened to what he was told.
