Just added 500 more rounds --- 200 factory loads and 300 handloads. 350 - 230gr ball and 150 - 230gr TMJ. March is requalifying month and nothing beats the old 230 grainers for practice and fun shooting.

A mere pittance. Get some real ammo - some Gold Dot 230gr or HST 230gr if you plan on shooting any NE Ohioans in the face, sternum or gut. Fred also has a large cache of Ranger 230gr in Freddy Jones' locker.

For social work I carry Winchester PDX 230 gr JHP ammunition, if you must know. I have complete confidence in regular 230 grain hardball, too. That 230 gr hardball round has over 100 years of proven stopping power. No handgun round is 100% effective all the time, and no one is claiming that.

Nope. The lightest I will go in .45ACP is a 200gr LSWC @ 950fps, but not all semiautos will feed that bullet shape reliably. It was designed for a big heavy bullet, and I like big heavy bullets. I'll defer to the results of numerous real life shootings over killing gelatin blocks under controlled conditions. It's MY life that depends on what is in my guns.

there are 7000 grains to a pound. I'm not worried about 15 411 fp vs 404..........7fp ain't an issue either

I'm not worried about 15 411 fp vs 404..........7fp ain't an issue either And if I go to Buffalo Bore .45 ACP +P with a FMJFN 230gr bullet I get 461ft/lbs at 950FPS with a 45 grain heavier bullet. Heavier and more powerful. Why would I give that up? The ammo I currently carry (Winchester PDX1) gives me 432 ft/lbs and 920 FPS with a 230gr JHP. Why would I give THAT up either?
As I said, I've done my homework, and I know what I trust MY life with. I put on a gun every day like other people put on their socks. I don't carry part-time. You can use whatever you want, too.
P.S. I know how many grains are in a pound. That's how I calculate how many cartridges I can reload from a pound of powder. It's why I prefer W-231 over Unique or Bullseye. Same power level with a smaller weight charge. More economical.

You should stop flappin your gums, granny, and learn something for once. www.ar15.com/ammo/project/Self_Defense_Ammo_FAQ/index.htm#mozTocId986750 Let me explain this one more time to you, Snowflake. Real life isn't shooting into gelatin under controlled conditions. Real life involves real results from real life shootings. You like to play in fantasy world with guns you don't own. I carry a REAL gun, every day, everywhere I go. Your little video game opinions don't matter a bit to me. I have SEEN in person, up close and nasty, people shot and killed with everything from .22LR to .25ACP, .45ACP, and lord knows what rifle calibers. Have you?
My life doesn't depend on your wild guesses and "studies." My life depends on ME and MY choices. Understand? Use whatever the f-word you want to, IF you ever own a real gun. As I said, you are Gun World Willie. Never done nothin', but want to act like some kind of expert. You are a sad little man.

And I did say "guess."the 358 diameter should let you know that it is a 357 of some sort, however the 358 diameter is a rifle bullet that can be used in a pistol round. bumps the pressure up a bit, therefor the velocity too. Not a "magnum", the Maximum.........distance is defense. If I need to drop 'em at 200, no problem
