Your soul may not be in any danger, but your body might be. There are a ton of folk all over the planet who will not listen to anything you say because you don't believe as they do, will condescend and will not respect any differences you may have with them, and may actually kill you because of what you do or don't believe; all based on something they have absolutely no basis to believe other than pure faith. So, there is no evidence supporting the Christian Theophany then, eh, Walter-- e.g., no first person witness testimony? Are you and Harry really that ignorant of the New Testament scriptures and the 2,000 year hagiographical literature of the Church? I'm reminded of the scripture, "When the blind lead the blind, they both fall into the ditch." LOL. If the Arians had prevailed at Nicea you would be here touting their beliefs, complete with so-called first witness testimony. And In advance I know your arrogance won’t allow you to understand that.

Yes, and if Moses hadn't parted the Red Sea the Israelites would have been massacred by Pharaoh's army. Funny how those "man made" religions prevailed, eh, O'Chicken? You probably don't know the St. Nicholas of Myra in Lycia, himself -- the St. Nicholas-- denounced Arius at the Council of Nicea. In fact, you know nothing about the 2,000 year history of the lives and teachings of the miracle-working Orthodox saints. As for Arianism, here's a basic scripture from St. John the Theologion for your ignorant ass. See if you can figure this one out. Duh. The Gospel According to John
Chapter One
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.
... 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Yawn. IF the Arians had won the vote at Nicea, the history would have been written differently. Likely by Eusebius, Constantine’s mouthpiece. And you would be here telling us Arianism is the true church.

It's easy to pretend that you know what you're talking about when you're completely ignorant of the scriptures, history, and hagiography of the Church, eh? And Walter will agree with you because he shares your ignorance. Arianism was directly contradicted by the scriptures, (See John 1:1-14 above) and was also refuted by the divine wisdom of the saints, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit that established and maintained the Church for the past 2,000 years-- as Christ foretold. The Church wasn't "man made." It was established and maintained by the Holy Spirit. John 14:26
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Acts 2:1-47

Have you studied the writings of William James, Freud, Jung, Malinowski, Huston Smith, Clifford Geertz, Peter Berger, et.al., on the subject? As for Christian theology and ecclesiology, you get another "F"-- as you do on most subjects we discuss here. You're a genius in your own Sooner imagination.

If there were, we could sort out evidence of dragons and leprechauns, of Hercules and Zeus, Thor, Vishnu and Zoroaster, of Atlantis and Valhalla. But there isn't.

Truth is I don’t think you’re stupid. Nor are you the intellectual giant you imagine. Smart people don’t need to constantly tell others how smart they are, as you do. At your core you’re simply an insecure narcissist who craves attention.

I have very strong religious beliefs and I most certainly believe in God.

I have very strong religious beliefs and I most certainly believe in God. That is not my point. The point here is that 'strong religious beliefs' all have the same thing in common: FAITH that it is true. None of the fancy religious word salads, stunning accounts of miraculous events or ornate vestments matter without the faith.

So, there is no evidence supporting the Christian Theophany then, eh, Walter-- e.g., no first person witness testimony? Are you and Harry really that ignorant of the New Testament scriptures and the 2,000 year hagiographical literature of the Church? I'm reminded of the scripture, "When the blind lead the blind, they both fall into the ditch." We have been through this so I will not belabor it, but no...there is nothing, and I mean nothing, in the way of evidence that does not first require faith in order to accept. If there were, we could sort out evidence of dragons and leprechauns, of Hercules and Zeus, Thor, Vishnu and Zoroaster, of Atlantis and Valhalla. But there isn't. Not correct, except in the sense that our a priori beliefs about ultimate reality also directly influence our ability to perceive evidence. There is, in fact, evidence of Divine revelation and there is true knowledge of that revelation-- which requires study and examination. The New Testament scriptures constitute profound evidence-- first person witness testimony about the life, doctrines, and resurrection of Christ. So does the written evidence of the lives of the saints during the past 2,000 years-- based on first person witness testimony. The Sign of Jonah is the only physical sign given to "an adulterous generation" by Christ, as He foretold. (Jonah in the belly of the whale is a symbol of Christ in the tomb.) It is the Shroud of Turin-- a radiographic, reverse 3-D photo of Christ's resurrection, imprinted on a first century Hebrew burial shroud. But you cannot see the macro- and micro-anatomical scientific data of the Shroud, Walter. You are blinded by your a priori faith in cosmic nothingness-- the positivistic assumption. When I told you about physicist John Jackson's scientific Shroud data, you, literally, couldn't see it. Your perceptive capacity was closed off by your a priori faith in nothingness. Meanwhile, anyone can simply make up their own "man made" version of God in order to justify their sins-- bearing false witness against their neighbors, conning people, etc.-- but such "man made" religions are not based on Divine revelation. They are simply "man made." Such people are "good with God," based on their "man made" concept of God. Even Donald Trump is "good with God" in that sense.
