Had Republicans compromised compromised with Democrats in those last 12 years more would also have been accomplished. Willful refusal to compromise has been the problem and will continue to be the problem. Both parties are equally guilty.

Are you suggesting that Trump has not normalized incivility and used the act of juvenile personal insults as a political weapon?

Are you suggesting that his followers are not frustrated or that he did not play to those frustrations?
Are you suggesting that his followers are not fearful or that he did not play to those fears?
Are you suggesting that none of his followers are bigots or that he did not play to that bigotry?

As I recall, Wally self-appointed himself as administrator of this when AOLhell basically gave it up, kind of like a dictator, and during his self-appointed tenure, he has without a doubt acted like a dictator in many, many ways. Censoring or deleting posts he did not agree with, failing to censure posters whom the majority of members found to be offensive and or abusive. During his term, we have seen a drastic drop in active membership numbers and participation. During his term we have seen an escalation in insults and degrading comments rather than civil discussions and conversations. I suggest we either impeach him, or hold an election and have a new administrator. I have not consulted with anyone on this matter, but I nominate Oujour to be our next administrator and would hope he would accept the position. Should he choose to not want the position, then I would ask him to nominate someone he feels would administer this board in an honest and professional manner.

In reading this thread, I think there's some confusion.

Does "spite free" mean no spite as to each other personally in the discussion? Or "spite free" when issuing criticism of Donald Trump? Because I don't see how you can have a discussion about Donald Trump and why someone may or may not vote for him unless folks are free to discuss their criticism of whatever it was that caused them to vote otherwise.

If the question is the former, how is Walt out of line? He's stating pretty directly why he doesn't like Trump, and why he and others may not have voted for him. If it is the latter, then how is it a discussion?

This board was set up to be the former, if that is any help. And I agree, If one cannot be 'spiteful' of TFP, or similarly 'spiteful' of Biden, what's the point?
