Unless it was accidental. Intentionally shooting at a house should land you in prison every time.
Even in an emergency, you can be held liable if you shoot the wrong person or damage property.I agree. I can't remember all the details but I seem to recall his stepfather was responsible for a negligent discharge. Maybe he can refresh our memories. |

If it was accidental, you have no right owning a gun. Unless it is an emergency situation, you must ALWAYS know what is beyond your target.

Not totally true. I doubt that the $1.5 billion in payouts you were talking about came from cops declaring themselves not guilty. But actually it is. Nearly all settlements come with a statement saying its not admitting guilt or they don't admit any wrong doing They just say settling is cheaper than going to trial You’re splitting hairs and picking shit with the chickens. The bullet had to come out of a 22 bolt action rifle, go straight through a field, then a wooded area, another field, another wooded area and then take a 90 degree right hand turn, cross a road and then hit a window making a small hole in a house nearly half a mile away. And the bullet had to also never lose any altitude while doing this. My dad was told by the game warden just to fix the window. It was months later (4 months) my dad found out he was being charged with a felony by the prosecutors office Marc was prepared to testify on my dad's behave that it was impossible for my dad's gun and the bullet to do what they were claiming it did My dad took a plea and got 1 year probation, paid a fine and even got his gun back. |
