The Gators will extend the winning streak over the vols to 10 games this week. UT won the first 10 games in the series. UF will get a chance to match bama's 11 game win streak over the vols from 71-81 in the 15 season. UF opened at -1 over UT.

Muschamp appears to be content to go down with the sinking ship:
By Robbie Andreu Staff writer

Florida coach Will Muschamp said Monday he has no plan to play two quarterbacks Saturday in Knoxville against Tennessee.
“Not at this time,” Muschamp said.
Muschamp said starting quarterback Jeff Driskel got almost all the reps with the No. 1 offense in practice last week and that will continue this week. He said there could be a package of plays for No. 2 quarterback Treon Harris, but the flow of the game will determine whether he has a chance to run that package.
Driskel said Monday’s he’s heard the criticism about his play among Gator fans, but that he’s fine with it.
“There’s a lot (of criticism) out there,” Driskel said. “You really can’t shield yourself from all of it. That’s part of playing quarterback here. I’m not one to let that stuff get to me.
“You’ve got to be even keel and keep moving forward. There is a lot out there. I’m grown, I can handle it.”

October 11 SEC Football Games Selected For Television Availability - I'm hoping for a night game with ESPN or the SEC Network:
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida football team returns to The Swamp on October 11 to face Southeastern Conference foe LSU. CBS has elected to use a six-day option for selections for Oct. 11.
Games being held for selection are: Auburn at Mississippi State, Ole Miss at Texas A&M, LSU at Florida, Alabama at Arkansas and Georgia at Missouri.
CBS will televise a doubleheader, with a game at 3:30 pm ET and Noon ET. ESPN will televise two games, one at 6:00 pm ET and one at 9:00 pm ET. CBS has first selection for its 3:30 pm ET game then ESPN has the next two selections for its 6:00 pm ET and 9:00 pm ET games followed by CBS selecting its Noon ET game. The SEC Network has the next selection.
Florida is 31-26-3 all-time against the Tigers, including a 15-11-3 record in Gainesville.
SEC Football on Saturday, October 11
CBS 12 p.m. TBD
SEC Network 12 p.m. La. Monroe at Kentucky
CBS 3:30 p.m. TBD
SEC Network 4 p.m. UT-Chattanooga at Tennessee
ESPN 6 p.m. TBD
SEC Network 7:30 p.m. TBD
FSN 7:30 p.m. Charleston Southern at Vanderbilt

Crap! Two non-secondary defensive starters out for UT - DT Leon Orr and MLB Michael Taylor. Both are big losses because Orr is good at putting pressure on the QB and Taylor is good in pass coverage:
Written by Ryan Randall, September 29, 2014
In preparation for Saturday’s contest against Tennessee, the Florida Gators have been playing the Volunteers’ fight song “Rocky Top” every day in practice to prepare for what they’ll be hearing on the road.
While head coach Will Muschamp said he’ll be humming the song walking in to Neyland Stadium, he’s hoping Tennessee won’t be playing the song much.
The Gators were said to have had physical practices last week and look to continue the same this week in preparation for their SEC East rival. While Florida was off, Tennessee suffered a three-point loss at Georgia Saturday. The Gators are second in the division and control their destiny over these three weeks with games against Tennessee and Missouri.
Here are more notes from Monday’s press conference: Injuries
“Injury report, CJ Worton will be out. Leon Orr will be out. Hope to get him back next week. Mike Taylor with a knee and Brandon Powell with a hamstring are questionable to doubtful this week. And expect D.J. Humphries to play. He’ll practice today. He got some good work in last week.”
On Trenton Brown’s ankle injury:
“Yeah, Trenton’s fine. He’s still a little hobbled by the ankle, but I think he’s going to be fine. He practiced last week, about half the practice. The other half he was in the pit working out. He’s really coming along and playing well for us. Certainly losing him the other day hurt a little bit as far as some of the movement we got in the run game. He’s done a nice job with protection.”
The offensive line with the addition of Humphries:
“We’ve talked about that, as a matter of fact yesterday and this morning. Rod has played well. Chaz has played well. They all will play. But if D.J. is ready to go, we’ll put him at the left and then we’ll figure out between Chaz and Rod. Obviously, Chaz will be a guy that would probably start if we had the game today, but we want to see how the week goes. We want to see how D.J. progresses.”
Change in using kickers:
“Well, Austin would be from the 26 probably to the 32, 33, depending on weather conditions. And Frankie from 25 in, from the yard-line standpoint from where we measure. Again, the order of that has to do with who’s kicked well throughout the week. Those guys have really been very close in their competition in what they’ve done. So, there’s nothing that wouldn’t say Austin could kick all the time in all situations.”
The re-emergence of Kyle Christy:
“When he’s able to flip the field the way he can, he certainly is a huge weapon for us. I think more than anything [it's] confidence. I think the issue is his confidence got shook a little bit last year. I think (Special teams coordinator) Coleman Hutzler has done a really good job fundamentally with him as far as getting back to the basics as opposed to trying to tweak and change his swing every time something didn’t go right. You can’t, you just got to get back to the basics and fundamentals when things aren’t going well.
Adjustments in the secondary:
“We’re still working through that right now. Brian’s repping some in the nickel. Duke Dawson’s repping some at the safety position. You know, between Jalen and Quincy at corner, trying to find the right combination there and continuing to rep Marcus in the nickel and at safety as well. Keanu Neal has done a nice job with some things and Jabari. We’re just continuing to find the right combination. We’ve got a whole week of practice this week, so we’ll make those decisions probably the latter part of the week, probably Friday or Saturday.”
On Tennessee running back Jalen Hurd:
“Tough, physical. You know north and south runner, doesn’t try and do a lot east-west running. Gets the ball north and south. Really good football player, but that’s what you saw in high school. I mean he was a tough, downhill runner. Pushes the pile in the run game. Does a nice job.”
What Muschamp did during the off weekend:
"I went recruiting Friday and then just kind of watched ball Saturday and then we worked Sunday. So we just had one day off there. It was nice.”

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

I feel like Will Muschamp is writing his own obituary. I hope he proves all of the naysayers wrong, but he has nobody to blame except himself if he doesn't.

Did you hear about the NFL scouting report in which it was stated that Driskel has the downfield vision of a true freshman and he isn't accurate beyond 10 yards from the line of scrimmage? There were lots of reasons to get Treon Harris ready in the off week, but nothing was done to do so. At best, it's a bad coaching decision. At worst, it could cost Will Muschamp his head coaching job with UF.

UF's updated depth for the UT game: www.gatorzone.com/football/stats/depth.pdf1. Looks like MLB Michael Taylor will play. 2. DJ Humphries is back starting at LT. 3. Chaz Green was moved back to RT and will share time with Rod Johnson. 4. Jonathan Bullard and Joey Ivie will share snaps in Leon Orr's absence.

Driskel looked about the same as he always looked so Muschamp must believe that's the best he has. What was the word after summer camp? Was Driskel looking good? Seems like that was what was being said by Gator fans.

It doesn't help that the offense lost pass catching TE Jake McGee in the 2nd quarter of the first game. However, Driskel's passes are late and off target. I don't think there is a fix for it.

If Driskel bombs on Saturday then Muschamp should realize the SEC East is lost and change QBs to prepare for next year, even though he will know he will be gone. Word I heard Monday is that Georgia will rotate QBs Saturday to "rest Mason" a few plays. Whether he brings in Ramsey for his passing or Bauta to run some read option plays we don't know. But either QB will give defenses some worry.

If UF loses to tennessee on Saturday then I predict that Mullins will be coaching the Gators next season. I'll go further and say that if UF loses on Saturday the rumors about Mullins leaving will so adversely affect the rest of the season for Mississippi State that it will eventually cost them a chance at what could have been their best season ever. Especially around bowl season.
