If UF loses to tennessee on Saturday then I predict that Mullins will be coaching the Gators next season. I'll go further and say that if UF loses on Saturday the rumors about Mullins leaving will so adversely affect the rest of the season for Mississippi State that it will eventually cost them a chance at what could have been their best season ever. Especially around bowl season. Dan Mullens would be a possibility, but I'm sure there are others on Jeremy Foley's list that have HC experience. UF was installed as a 1 point favorite on Sunday night. The betting has swung in UT's favor as the vols are right now consensus -2 1/2. It's just more motivation for the Gators.

It was said that the offense was a work in progress and it should fit Driskel better. The problem is he can't throw accurately. It doesn't help that the offense lost pass catching TE Jake McGee in the 2nd quarter of the first game. However, Driskel's passes are late and off target. I don't think there is a fix for it. If Driskel bombs on Saturday then Muschamp should realize the SEC East is lost and change QBs to prepare for next year, even though he will know he will be gone. Word I heard Monday is that Georgia will rotate QBs Saturday to "rest Mason" a few plays. Whether he brings in Ramsey for his passing or Bauta to run some read option plays we don't know. But either QB will give defenses some worry. In the parts of the game I could watch, Mason looked lost in the passing game. Unlike Muschamp, Reverend Richt is getting others ready to play if they are needed. OC Kurt Roper agrees with Muschamp that Driskel gives UF its best chance to win. However, he followed that up with the comment that the decision to start Driskel is 100% Muschamp's decision. (shaking head) The team has expressed confidence in Driskel too. We'll see come Saturday. The football weather in Tennessee should be beautiful, upper 60s and clear.

So far it looks like there very well could be openings at Michigan, Kansas, UF, West Virginia, Purdue, Indiana, and Southern Miss. As UF saw during their last coaching search the pickings could be thin. Foley would snatch Mullins up in a minute if and when the decision is made to let Coach Boom go. I don't see UF being able to get anyone better right now.

That means the 3 and 4 receivers are covered by the opponents two best DBs. But both WRs will be back full speed this week and maybe Mason can get some confidence in his passing.

Tell us what you really think Robbie Andreu:
Robbies Playbook Getting rocked on Rocky Top Friday, October 3, 2014 at 10:14 by Robbie Andreu
Through preseason camp and the first two games of the season, I have to admit that I drank the Kool-Aid and was convinced this Florida team was much, much better than last season and would make a serious run at an SEC championship in 2014.
Well, after what I witnessed two weeks ago in Tuscaloosa, I’ve spit out the Kool-Aid and am now chugging a healthy drink of reality. And the reality is this team is not a whole lot better than last year’s.
The offense, with poor production at quarterback and wide receiver, is looking just like it did a year ago — inept and incapable of scoring many points. And the defense, which kept the Gators in most games in 2013, has collapsed around a broken secondary that can’t cover, can’t tackle, can’t make plays when it has to.
So, what next?
Well, probably another loss unless something dramatically changes on both sides of the ball (which is hard to imagine happening).
I look at Tennessee, and I see a team making great progress under Butch Jones, a team that is moving closer and closer to being very good. I look at Florida in Will Muschamp’s fourth season, and I see a team stuck in the muck, advancing nowhere.
Maybe that will all change in Knoxville on Saturday. Maybe Driskel will come out on fire in the passing game and the Gators will roll up and down the field. And maybe the defense will light up UT quarterback Justin Worley with a heavy pass rush and shut down the Vols.
Well, that’s the Kool-Aid version.
The reality is this is a bad matchup for the Gators. UF can’t defend the pass, and the Vols are very good passing the ball. UT has a sound defense, and the Gators don’t consistently move the ball against good defenses. One possible advantage for UF is the Vols’ young, inexperienced offensive line. But this is a UF defensive front that puts no pressure on the quarterback.
It all adds up to more road misery for the Gators.
Prediction: Tennessee 31, Florida 14.

Unfortunately, I can't disagree with anything he wrote. Yeah...but a 17 point loss? That feels and seems a bit extreme. I mean, I dislike the Gators, but if someone offered me UF +16, I'd consider taking out a loan... I feel like there's a lot of pride on the line, and the Gators won't let it get that bad. I enjoy betting, but I never bet more than a few dollars, and just for fun...but I can't pull the trigger on this game either way for real money. I might reconsider later tonight...I mean...if the Gator homers are predicting a meltdown, maybe I'll throw ten bucks on a Volunteer victory...

I might reconsider later tonight...I mean...if the Gator homers are predicting a meltdown, maybe I'll throw ten bucks on a Volunteer victory... Trn, don't bet money on UT. Robbie Andreu and Pat Dooley have been frothing at the mouth for Muschamp's head since the UK OT win and the bama loss. They've gotten to be too disgusting with their anti-Muschamp agenda to bother to read their opinions. I only posted that article to have Robbie's ridiculous 31-14 prediction on record here. Nevermind that UK is proving to be better than originally thought, I realize you don't agree, or that no one in the known universe predicted UF could win by any score in Tuscaloosa. UF has the best record at 2-1 they could have with the cancelled game, but Muschamp and the team is a failure. When they do reach that point, I'll remove my 2014 Comeback Team of the Year from my sig line. That may happen tomorrow, but I wouldn't bet on it. UF is going to win outright. The Gator offense will miraculously look better against a team that doesn't have the best front 7 defense in the nation or has the balance on offense either. My hunch is the Gator secondary has been prepared to play better against UT's passing strength. The vols won't run 87 offensive plays to wear the Gator D out. Even without Leon Orr playing, the vols won't be able to consistently run on the Gator defense. The DL can play 1 DT down and still be fine. The vols success will come in the passing game with the running game chipping in along the way. It won't be enough to win. I concede the obvious that UT is better at QB, but UF is more talented/experienced on both lines of scrimmage and generally throughout the lineup. The UF O got its starting RT back this week so the OL is a player deeper. The OL didn't allow any sacks at bama. Take the Gators if betting real money. Come Saturday afternoon around 3:30 EST, UF will have extended its 9 game winning streak against UT to 10 games.

Perhaps, but I disagree with you and why I probably won't bet the game. LOL I think Worley and those receivers will keep the chains moving, and Hurd will have just enough success to score. The UT defense is young, and I think the Gators will be able to pound the rock, but I think UT sells out to stop the run and make Driskell beat you. Don't know that he can do that. Right now, my only bets are Miami, and I have a sucker parlay bet with FSU -38, Bama -6 and Clemson -14. I normally hate to bet on my team, but if we can't beat Wake by more than 38, then we're in trouble. I suppose it is possible that we only win 45-10, but like I said...I bet $10. I fully expect Bama to win convincingly, and I think NCSU sold out and shot their wad to beat FSU last weekend and Clemson with Deshaun Watson is pretty good...especially at home.

UT shot their wad last week at UGALY. It'll be hard for a young team to get that high 2 weeks in a row even with the game in Knoxville. Besides, I've heard reports that UT is far more banged up than UF and they have a couple of injuries in their WR corps left over from the UGALY game. Maybe the reports are all just talk, but best not to put money on the vols to cover the 2 1/2 point spread. I think UF will win outright, say 28-24.

If you're going to put $10 on the line, put it on the Gators. You've already lost the game in the pick'em contest. Seven of us will have gotten it right.

Unfortunately, I can't disagree with anything he wrote. After last Saturday waching UTk almost beat Georgia, I think he's right. Worley would have beaten Georgia had we not Gurlyed them.
