We have several walk on QBs, but they've never played before. I'm not familiar with any of them. Then why burn Grier's shirt midseason? Even with Grier in there, your likelihood of winning enough games to have a "successful" season is flushed down the toilet. I'd play the walk-on, especially if an injury to Driskell or the backup is something that isn't season-ending. You're probably right. My mind is still fogged by the Harris news today.

Comedy of Unforced Errors - I've never heard anything about Mornhinweg being a disciplinary problem, but there has been talk that Willis was suspended from the UK and at bama games due to behavior issues. If that's the case, he could be out for a while or even altogether. I hope this ends up in just running steps. From the Gainesville Sun:

University of Florida football may be in trouble again after a fight between two players Monday night outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
UF police received a complaint that Gators quarterback Skyler Mornhinweg got into a fight with a teammate, defensive lineman Gerald Willis. Both players subsequently declined to press charges against each other, according to Maj. Brad Barber, a UPD spokesman.
Barber said UPD officers were called to the stadium about 7 p.m. after receiving reports about the fight. Only one of the players was still at the scene when officers arrived, Barber said.
Due to a back-spasms injury to Will Grier, Mornhinweg is the next choice for quarterback behind Jeff Driskel, who was benched on Saturday for true freshman Treon Harris. Harris then led the Gators to victory over Tennessee in Knoxville.
Harris’ availability for this Saturday’s game in Gainesville against Louisiana State University remains in question after he was suspended Monday in light of an allegation that he raped a woman in an on-campus dorm.
Barber said there were no updates in that case.
Harris has not been charged with any crime.

Will Muschamp's Monday presser was moved back to Wednesday. It should be entertaining to watch with all of the new developments. (shaking head) The coordinator's pressers will be on Thursday. No players are being made available to the media this week.

I think there are going to be stadium steps to run. This is as silly as it gets. The fight was over some old cleats with the number 17 on them. Skyler wears 8 now, but he wore 17 before this season.
Gerald Willis is a 6'3"/270 DL so I can't imagine that he and Skyler wear the same size shoe.
The fight is something that shouldn't have happened, but I'm not sure it's particularly news worthy except that this seems to be the week to report UF's crapola.

We'll find out tomorrow at the presser if Muschamp decides to make an issue of it. I wouldn't other than some internal team punishment. It doesn't rise to the level of suspending anyone.

From Gator Country:
Written by Nick de la Torre, October 7, 2014
The University of Florida Police Department had their hands full on Monday. While Freshman quarterback Treon Harris continues to be under investigation for sexual battery, the UFPD was called about football players again on Monday night.
Major Brad Barber of the UFPD told Gator Country that police were called to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium last night to respond to reports of an altercation between two men.
The incident report stated that when officer Stephanie Williams arrived at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium only Skyler Mornhinweg, defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson and assistant athletics director George Wynn were on the scene. Wynn told Williams he was in his office at the time and “had no knowledge of the physical fight.” Robinson said that the team would “handle the issue internally” and Mornhinweg who “had small lacerations on his lower lip” completed a Complaint Withdrawal Affidavit with no intent to prosecute Willis.
Willis, who was not on the scene at the time, was reached the following day (Tuesday). Willis told Williams that Mornhinweg approached him regarding a pair of cleats that Mornhinweg said went missing from his locker. Mornhinweg told Willis that the missing pair of cleats — that had his number 17 on them — were found by a staff member in Willis’ locker.
Willis says he felt threatened by the way Mornhinweg was standing over him while he was sitting down eating dinner outside of the stadium so he stood up, face-to-face with Mornhinweg. Willis shoved Mornhinweg, who responded by striking Willis with a closed fist in the chin. Willis then hit Mornhinweg in the mouth.
A five-star recruit out of Edna Karr high school in New Orleans, Louisiana, Willis has played sparingly to this point of his freshman season but saw an increased workload last week with senior Leon Orr missing the game with an injury.
Mornhinweg started the final three games for the Gators last season after Jeff Driskel and Tyler Murphy were lost due to injury. Mornhinweg has served as a backup quarterback this season but has yet to earn playing time.
Barber told Gator Country that because both players declined to pursue charges that this matter was finished from a legal standpoint. Florida will likley dole out their own punishment for both players in house.
Will Muschamp’s Monday press conference was postponed to Wednesday afternoon after the new that Treon Harris was involved in a sexual battery investigation. He will meet with national media on the weekly SEC teleconference at 11:20 a.m. and with local media for the first time since both incidents occurred on Sunday morning and Monday night.

University of Florida student athlete Treon Harris is accused of sexually assaulting a female student early Sunday morning in a residence hall on the UF campus. The University of Florida Police Department is investigating the incident but word on the street is that the entire incident was created in a desperate attempt to ensure Driskel would get at least one more chance to QB before being kicked to the curb WOW !!! Thatz what EYE thought also !!!

Two High Profile Ladies To Do Mr. Two Bits For LSU Game:
By Chris Harry GatorZone.com Senior Writer
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- At first, she declined. Not her personality, she said.
Hannah Rogers, believe it or not, has never liked to be the center of attention.
That’s pretty interesting considering how she mowed down batter after batter while ESPN cameras spotlighted her during Florida’s run to the Women’s College World Series championship just four months ago.
“Well, I’ve been pitching all my life, so that was easy,” Rogers said Tuesday. “This is different.”
Dominating reigning Southeastern Conference Conference champion Alabama while 2.2 million viewers tuned in on TV was just another day at the ball yard for the runaway 2014 WCWS Most Valuable Player. But the idea of leading UF’s iconic cheer before Saturday night’s Southeastern Conference clash with LSU at “The Swamp” had a little different feel to it.
And that’s why this week’s honorary “Mr. Two Bits” will have a different look.
Can you say “Miss Two Bits” ... times two.
Teaming with Rogers, the first female celebrity to take on the role made famous by George Edmondson, will be sister softball superstar Stacey Nelson, who in 2008 led the Gators to the program’s first WCWS berth and remains the program’s all-time leader in wins (136), ERA (0.99) and strikeouts (1,116).
And don’t be surprised if the entire 2014 national championship squad, which will be honored during the game, isn’t out there surrounding Rogers and, in essence, putting her right back in a kind of high-profile circle from which she’s been known to perform spectacularly.
Rogers, the 2014 SEC Female Athlete of the Year, went 30-8 with a 1.60 ERA her senior year, then went virtually unhittable in NCAA Tournament play, going 7-0 with a 0.60 ERA, seven complete games, six shutouts and the title-clinching save in the WCWS finals over rival and 2012 champion ‘Bama.
“As someone who was a pitcher and a Florida Gator, I loved the way she represented our school and the program,” said Nelson, who last spring graduated from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and in July was Rogers’ guest at the ESPY’s when she was accepted the Capital One Cup award on behalf of UF for the nation’s most outstanding women’s overall program. “I’m a huge Hannah Rogers fan.”
Nelson is also a huge “Mr. Two Bits” fan -- a self-proclaimed “Two Bits dork,” she said -- and cannot wait to don the outfit. During her time as a student, Nelson loved watching the spry old man do his cheer during football and was thrilled to once meet him on the sidelines before a game.
“The whole story of how he started doing the cheer when the team wasn’t doing well and people were picking on the Gators ... ,” she said. “That shows how much he cared.”
The same can be said about Nelson. One the most decorated female athletes in UF history, she’ll have the back of Rogers, who virtually overnight became one of the most famous and most dominant champions -- male or female -- in UF history.
“With someone else out there with me, that’ll help,” Rogers said. “Once I get out there and get ready to do it, I’ll be fine.”
Everybody in the stadium will be.

Some not so good news on the injury front. DT Leon Orr is questionable for the game. With LSU's run heavy offense, we need all of our DL to rotate. It think we'll see more of Jay-nard Bostwick and Caleb Brantley to get more size in at DT. The depth chart doesn't say that, but it doesn't make sense to not go big against a team that runs the ball 65% of its plays with most out of the I-formation. Since UF is so bad at pass defense, it could be that Les Miles chooses to be more balanced this week. However, I think that plays into UF's advantage with Leon Orr out and the passing inaccuracy of both LSU QBs.
The good news is QB Will Grier, MLB Michael Taylor, and RB Brandon Powell will be available. I'd give Brandon Powell a shot in the slot. He can't do any worse than WR Latroy Pittman. Pittman allows himself to be manhandled on running his routes and he has the dropsies:
Robbie Andreu @robbieandreu DT Leon Orr (knee) questionable for the game. Mike Taylor will practice today and play. Brandon Powell is back. Grier is good to go.

More injury news:
WR CJ Worton is back and will play. He would be a better option in the slot than Brandon Powell.
RB Valdez Showers is out with a high ankle sprain. Say bye to Showers until Jax or later. High ankle sprains can be a bitch.
RB Matt Jones has some fluid on his surgically repaired knee and has missed some practice time, but he will play Saturday.
A decision hasn't been made about the back up QB for LSU, but it will be Grier or Mornhinweg. CWM said Grier has looked good in practice this week showing no rust from missing two weeks with back spasms.

It doesn't look like the fight Monday night will amount to anything substantial:
Andrew Spivey @andrewspiveygc
Muschamp says the Willis/Mornhinweg thing is just overblown big time. Just a typical team scuffle.
