Take my advice early this week. Take UF to cover in the pick'em contest and place $5 on UF to win $6 again. Insofar as 24 is concerned, I don't care if it turns out 10-9 like at UT so long as UF has the 10. It's about winning one game at a time. This is a tough rebound game for LSU after being hammered 41-7 at AU last week. UF also has the revenge factor working for them.

Danny Wuerffel Enshrined In College Football Hall of Fame - He'll be at the LSU game giving his support to Jeff Driskel. He's staying in Chris Doerring's home this weekend:
Wednesday October 8, 2014
Wuerffel Enshrined in College Football Hall of Fame
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- In a week when a lot of Florida quarterback developments have been in the news, a former Gator who once played the position officially took his place in college football’s immortality.
Not that he wasn’t there already.
Danny Wuerffel, who won a Heisman Trophy on the way to guiding the Gators to their first national championship in 1996, was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame during ceremonies in Atlanta on Tuesday night.
“The memories I have from being there are so special,” Wuerffel said. “Those friends, those memories we all experienced, were unbelievable.”
Anybody know what he’s talking about?
Try a 45-6-1 record with four Southeastern Conference titles during his four seasons (1993-96), the bulk of which were with Wuerffel starting at quarterback. Along the way, he passed for 10,875 yards and a UF record 114 touchdowns, capping his career by becoming (then) just the second Gator to win the Heisman.
A month later, he piled on with a 52-20 blowout of rival Florida State in the Sugar Bowl national championship game.
Wuerffel, now 40 and heading up his Desire Street Ministries project based in New Orleans, became the sixth Florida player to enter the prestigious Hall, joining Dale Van Sickel, Steve Spurrier, Wilber Marshall, Jack Youngblood and Emmitt Smith.
''Getting enshrined not only in the Hall, but the fact that it's in this community, is one of those things that transcends the sport,'' Wuerffel said. ''People may hate Florida and not like Spurrier or me, but they're going to honor you for what you did and brought to college football. That's cool.''

Without Harris, you lose to Tennessee, and I don't think Tennessee is as good as LSU, even with all of the youth. I just am pretty sure you're not going to score 24 points.

15 dropped passes in 4 games and wrong pass routes are strong contributors to why UF can't get any offensive consistency. Jeff Driskel not throwing accurately, on time, and with touch is part of it, but not all of it as many people think. The biggest culprits of the dropped passes have been Demarcus Robinson, Latroy Pittman, and TE Clay Burton. As I feared when it happened, the UF offense has really missed pass catching TE Jake McGee who was lost in the 2nd quarter of the first game against Eastern Michigan. It reminds me of when UF lost its starting MLB in the first half of the first game against Ball State in the late 90s. The UF D was never as good as it would have been with him playing:

Back to Work: Gators Get LSU in 'Swamp' Saturday
By Chris Harry GatorZone.com Senior Writer
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- While the Treon Harris situation may be unresolved for some time, the Florida football season goes on.
LSU is coming to town Saturday.
After going silent on the media front for two days in the wake of Harris, their true freshman quarterback, being suspended amid an investigation of a sexual assault, UF coach Will Muschamp held what would normally be his Monday look-back/look-ahead news conference Wednesday, remaining mostly mum regarding Harris and limiting his remarks to his team’s on-field focus.
“The statement the university released Monday, I think, was pretty self-explanatory,” said Muschamp, adding he was “comfortable” with how the issue had been handled to date. “It’s a very serious charge and there’s been no change in his status. ... We’ve got to move forward.”
The Gators (3-1, 2-1) face a Tigers (4-2, 0-2) team coming off back-to-back decisive Southeastern Conference defeats -- 34-29 at home against Mississippi State and 41-7 at Auburn -- and now backed in a corner regarding its hopes in the league’s West Division.
UF, meanwhile, is coming off its 10-9 escape act at Tennessee, where Harris replaced benched starter Jeff Driskel and sparked a lifeless offense to a pair of fourth-quarter scoring drives. Less than 48 hours later, Harris was suspended from the team indefinitely after he was accused of sexually assaulting a female student early Sunday, prompting his removal from all team activities.
Now, it’s back to the grease board with Driskel, who has completed just 20 of 51 passes the past two games (39.2 percent) for 152 yards, one touchdown and five interceptions. The offense, meanwhile, has managed only 200 and 232 yards, respectively, during those outings.
Driskel has struggled with accuracy for three straight games -- including a 2-for-25 errancy on balls beyond 15 yards -- but Muschamp again refused to let his fourth-year junior shoulder all the blame for an offense averaging just 321.3 yards per game in SEC play (11th in the league). Not when UF’s receivers have combined to drop 15 balls; not when running backs fail to pick up blitzes that lead to interceptions; and not when a receiver runs the wrong route.
“The No. 1 thing you do, and what I addressed with our offense on Monday, is taking ownership in your job,” Muschamp said. “Take ownership in how you play and how you perform, instead of pointing a finger at somebody else, which is the easier thing to do.”
Expect to see some different personnel on offense this week, with true freshmen like running back Brandon Powell (out the last two games with a sore hamstring) and wideout C.J. Worton (out two games with a wrist injury) being folded into situational roles. Powell figures to be a nice change-of-pace guy out of the backfield, while Worton will operate out of the slot.
Elsewhere on the injury front, slot receiver Valdez Showers (ankle) will miss the game and defensive tackle Leon Orr (knee), who missed the win over the Volunteers, remains questionable. Running back Matt Jones, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown at Tennessee, has missed practice this week after his knee swelled, but is expected to play. Same with linebacker Michael Taylor (knee), who was sidelined at Knoxville.
As for Driskel, the offensive staff is working to instill confidence by reminding him of what he’s done well over his career versus what he’s done poorly. He made some plays two years ago when LSU came to town ranked fourth in the nation and the Gators, behind a strong defense and mostly mistake-free offense, won the game 14-6.
“Jeff’s a tough young man. He’s resilient,” Muschamp said. “I met with him Sunday and talked to him after the game and talked to him Monday. He understands the situation. He needs to play better. He takes full responsibility of being the quarterback at the University of Florida and the way he has handled this has been outstanding.”
LSU coach Les Miles, coming off the program’s worst loss since 1999 (which pre-dates even the Nick Saban era), said Wednesday he has yet to decide whether it’ll be sophomore Anthony Jennings or true freshman Brandon Harris who gets the start at quarterback this week. Neither was good against Auburn (Harris got the start and went 3-for-14 for 58 yards), as the Tigers finished with only 280 yards of total offense.
On the other side of the ball, LSU ranks last in the SEC in total defense (568 yards per game) and last in defending the run (300 ypg) against conference foes. In the Tigers’ defense, their two SEC opponents have been the Nos. 1-2 offenses in the league.
The program has also lost 18 players to the NFL draft the last two years.
“It’s hard to replace that, it’s hard to recruit for that,” Muschamp said.
But like the Gators, no one outside the fan base is going to feel sorry for them. Whatever is wrong, must be fixed.
Quickly.

Is that the cumulative season total so far? Yes, but Andre Debose is going to run a kickoff back for a TD and either Vernon Hargreaves or Jalen Tabor will get a pick 6. The UF offense will produce drives ending in 10 points. LSU will score 10 and get a fake FG TD. I look at every LSU FG attempt as a fake until it's kicked. It'll be a sucky game, but the home team will win by 7.

Looks like LSU will get some DL help this week. This from Dandy Don:
10/9/14 5:40 am CT
Good morning, Tiger Fans,
Yesterday Coach Les Miles met with the media after practice and dished out a few comments and updates that I’ll share with you today. I wasn’t at the presser, but was able to keep up with the action by following several beat writers on Twitter. As expected, Miles said that he will wait until game day to name a starting quarterback, and that both QBs are likely to play in the game. He also commented on a few defensive linemen, saying that Quentin Thomas has practiced this week and might be ready to play Saturday, that he’s not certain whether Trey Lealaimatafao will play this week, and that some administrative work has been done in the Travonte Valentine case and we should know more about his status within the next week. Miles also praised the toughness of freshman wide receiver Trey Quinn and said he’s good to go for this weekend, despite having sustained a huge hit at Auburn. That’s certainly good to hear.

A statement from Treon's attorney. We are releasing this statement in an attempt to help clarify the circumstances surrounding the investigation of Treon Harris. The status of Mr. Harris as a student at the University of Florida is that he was given an interim suspension pending a resolution by the administration of the University. After an appeal of the decision to suspend Mr. Harris , the University decided to allow Mr. Harris to continue his online courses. Because he is not allowed on campus, Mr. Harris is currently not attending those classes which occur in a classroom. In terms of the criminal case, as most of you are aware, the University released a redacted police report yesterday evening. Currently, Mr. Harris has not been arrested and the criminal investigation is ongoing. First, we want to dispel the idea that the alleged victim and our client didn’t know each other. Our client and the alleged victim knew each other to the extent that they had each other’s cell phone numbers and had previously spent time together of their own accord for the purpose of socializing together. We want to dispel the idea and rumors floating around that our client forced his way into the alleged victim’s apartment. Those rumors are patently false. Mr. Harris has never been inside the young lady’s room. We understand that all of the evidence was gathered from our client’s room, which is where the interaction between the two parties took place. We know that an individual has given testimony to law enforcement that he had sexual relations with the alleged victim less than an hour before the alleged sexual conduct with our client took place. In fact, testimony indicates that the young lady in question was the sexual aggressor in that interaction. Our investigation has produced no evidence whatsoever that the young lady in question was impaired. We have provided law enforcement with multiple witnesses that will indicate what the interaction was between the alleged victim and our client before they returned to our client’s room: they were smiling and they were holding hands. They returned to the Springs Residential Complex in a car driven by another female student who was a friend of the alleged victim. We have provided multiple text messages to the authorities investigating this incident. These texts were exchanged among the alleged victim, Mr. Harris, and the other gentleman mentioned above. When these text messages are released, they will show that the young woman making these allegations initiated the conduct with Mr. Harris while he was still in the locker room in Knoxville. Shortly after the team plane landed, texting continued between Mr. Harris and the alleged victim. We believe the evidence will show the alleged victim was in fact in the sexual aggressor with not one, but two young men early last Sunday morning. Misstatements in the media to date have painted a picture that is inconsistent with the evidence. That said, we have fully cooperated with this investigation. Mr. Harris agreed to a search of his dorm room. Mr. Harris agreed to a search of his phone. Mr. Harris gave a voluntary statement to law enforcement. We have turned over at least six (6) eyewitnesses to the events in questions to law enforcement. We have turned over the text messages to law enforcement. We have suggested to law enforcement multiple locations from which they should secure video surveillance. We have provided law enforcement with information gathered from the Internet that this young woman posted on Sunday, after the alleged misconduct, where she is smiling and happy. There is no indication of any physical or mental trauma. We have previously indicated that we do not believe that Mr. Harris will be arrested or prosecuted. That is because of our experience and the facts of this case. He is not guilty of a crime and he did not mistreat this young lady in any way that night. www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/florida-gators/os-treon-harris-attorney-press-release-20141009-story.htmlRead more: aolcfboutcasts.proboards.com/thread/12525/ufs-harris-suspended-indefinitely?page=3#ixzz3FfyS8x32

Pat Dooley Calls The WRs Out: www.gatorsports.com/article/20141009/ARTICLES/141009622/1217?p=1&tc=pgMy comments: 1. I'm glad Pat mentioned Quinton Dunbar and Ahmad Fulwood, but the only reason Fulwood was mentioned is because Pat wanted to keep up his fire Muschamp agenda by attacking the coaches for not playing him enough. I don't think anyone expected Andre Debose to excel outside of special teams returns. Pat failed to mention how Demarcus Robinson tried to single handedly lose the UT game dropping 3 passes and turning another into a tip drill INT. Clay Burton is a pass catching liability with drops also got no mention. I've put Latroy Pitman in #2. 2. Although CJ Worton is a true freshman, he has what it takes to be a success. Latroy Pittman, a senior, drops too many passes, doesn't run clean routes, and allows the D to manhandle him off the line of scrimmage. CJ Worton will be a major upgrade as a true freshman. I'm glad Pat called out the WRs publically. Entirely blaming Jeff Driskel for our offensive woes was a bad play all along. It just fit the fire Muschamp narrative that Dooley keeps pushing. We'll see if the WRs man up against LSU.

I'm calling cheap shot/low blow on Zach A.: www.gatorsports.com/article/20141010/articles/141019985?p=2&tc=pgThe kid is learning too well from jerks named Pat Dooley and Robbie Andreu. Zack, stick to recruiting. You're decent at that. I'm considering cherry picking only from the Gainesville Sun as the Gator Sports coverage section has gone to hades. It's gotten so bad with their dump Muschamp agenda that I no longer like going to the site. I think the coverage is better on Gator Country, 247 Sports/Gator Bait, and waiting a little bit to get reliable coverage from Gatorzone.

My guess is the accuser quietly transfers out of UF. I doubt she is well thought of on campus. While the media couldn't print her name, you know she is well known in a negative way right now.
Treon Harris' suspension has been lifted by UF - Jeff Barlis of ESPN confirmed with attorney Huntley Johnson that UF has lifted its suspension of Treon Harris:
Nick de la Torre @nickdelatorregc
RT @jeffbarlisespn: BREAKING: Treon Harris' attorney says his suspension by the university has been lifted.
Huntley Johnson deserves applause for a job well done.
