I read Trevor Knight or a kid from Louisville. Either of those would be a solid pick up. Was it Trevor Knight who led OU to their win over bama in the Sugar Bowl 2 years ago? If so, he would definitely fit into Mac's pro style offense. If he's going anyway, maybe Bobby Stoops will direct him UF's way.

Kelvin Taylor and Demarcus Robinson are going pro. It's not a surprise in either case. I already factored them gone when looking at what we have coming back.
Kelvin will make an excellent NFLer. He can run, block, and catch passes out of the backfield. It would have been nice to see him in front of a good offensive line.
Demarcus, don't let the door hit you in your butt on the way out. Demarcus was suspended against FSU and he played like a punk against bama. He isn't even listed on the depth chart for the Citrus Bowl against Michigan. Stick a fork in Demarcus. He's done whether he's ready for the NFL or not. The answer is not. He wasted his talent at UF. (shaking head)

I agree with you about Robinson. Unless and until he gets his head out of his ass, he won't make an NFL roster either.

Once these kids sniff that NFL paycheck many tend to takethings more serious.

Thankfully, the Treon Harris at QB era at UF is over.
UF has two future paybacks, FSU and Michigan. Opening day 2017 can't come around soon enough.

A summation of the bowl game from another board. I think he nails every point and covers every point I'd want to make.

A summation of the bowl game from another board. I think he nails every point and covers every point I'd want to make. FTWIW. DJ Gillens is leaving the Wisky program. Gillins came in a highly-touted prep signal caller, as he was ranked the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback in the nation by 247 Sports, No. 9 by Rivals and No. 17 by ESPN.com. He was rated as a four-star prospect by all three services, and a three-star recruit by Scout.com. He was recruited by the former Wisky coach Gary Anderson who wanted to run a spread. Current coach has and will run a pro set. I mention it only because he's a N Fl guy. Really talented athlete but going under center wasn't his skill set. More of a SG pistol QB. Good size at 6'3" and speed at 4.5..

UF picks up Under Armour All-American DT commitment:
UF picks up commitment from top defensive tackle
By Graham Hall Correspondent
Published: Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 6:35 p.m.
Last Modified: Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 6:35 p.m.
Florida had yet to receive a commitment from a defensive tackle in the 2016 class, but that changed Tuesday when four-star prospect Shavar Manuel tweeted he was committing to the Gators.
The 6-foot-3, 310-pounder out of IMG Academy in Bradenton brings much-needed size to a Florida defense that had 40 sacks last season, but recorded just nine over the final four games.
Ranked No. 130 in the Rivals 250, Manuel had earlier narrowed his top-3 choices to Auburn, LSU and Florida, although Florida State had long been considered a dark horse candidate to receive his commitment.
He took his first official visit, to LSU on Oct. 17, and he’ll take his official visit to Florida on Jan. 22. Manuel is scheduled to visit the Seminoles on Jan. 29, but it’s unclear if he still plans on visiting after committing to the Gators.
Manuel competed in last Saturday’s Under Armour All-American Game at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, recording two tackles in Team Armour’s 27-0 loss to Team Highlight.
Florida now has 26 commitments in the 2016 class.

Team News:
Going pro:
Vernon Hargreaves Kelvin Taylor Demarcus Robinson Alex McCalister Keanu Neal
Marcus Maye has not yet announced his decision. If either were to return, I'd have rather had Keanu Neal back.
Gatorzone is reporting Jarrad Davis is reconsidering his decision to return, but Gator country is saying they are certain that Davis will be back.
Jeremi Powell (OLB) has left the team. He didn't travel with the team to the Citrus Bowl. He has no NFL future, he is graduating this spring, so he has decided to give up football. Powell was a tweener in that he was too small for OLB yet he couldn't switch back and play safety.
Graduate senior QB Austin Appleby, 6'5"/235, has transferred in from Purdue. He was an elite 11 QB out of Ohio coming out of high school, but his best likely use at UF will be to add depth allowing UF to potentially redshirt true freshmen Franks and Trask. Franks and Trask are both 6'5"/220 so clearly McElwain wants his QBs tall. It looks like Luke Del Rio,6'2"/215, and Austin Appleby at QB in 16 unless one of the true freshmen grows up in a hurry.
Treon Harris (5'10"/198)? Who knows, but most have already written him off the QB position with UF. If he can't play slot WR or CB, he should probably transfer to open up another ship in the 16 class.

UF announces 6 player surgeries:
UF announces six players have surgery
By Robbie Andreu Staff writer
Published: Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 8:02 p.m.
Last Modified: Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 8:02 p.m.
Florida announced that six players have undergone surgery this week for a variety of nagging injuries: offensive lineman Martez Ivey (shoulder), slot receiver Brandon Powell (foot), defensive end Jordan Sherit (knee), defensive tackle Joey Ivie (sports hernia), cornerback Quincy Wilson (sports hernia) and walk-on place-kicker Neil MacInnes (ACL).
The player that concerns me the most is DT Thomas Holley. The kid is highly talented and skilled, but he has chronic hip pain from a hip surgery well over a year ago. If he can't get back on the field, I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved to a medical scholarship. For a DT who is 6'3/315, it's hard to get to pad level and play when you have chronic hip pain.
