The story you posted isn't about Fowler. So, basically, you have no evidence of this "Sunday before NSD" nonsense with Fowler. You were just shooting from the hip to make your own position look/feel better. ::shrug:: if it makes you sleep better at night thinking UF has the high ground, so be it. As far as I'm concerned, Manuel is payback for Fowler. Nothing about the Manuel situation is "dirty". I personally think it shouldn't be done for the reasons I've stated, but it isn't illegal. And you're incredibly upset over a kid who, according to your people, didn't have the grades to get in to UF anyway...

I agree...it was bad enough to stop playing Miami every year... no way in heck does Florida end the FSU annual meetings...no way. Fine, let's trade Miami for FSU and see if the candy canes can do better than this bullshit UF is putting up with from FSU. Lol...convenient timing. Miami currently is a shadow of what they were when you dropped them from the schedule and replaced them with Montana State....

We owe those bastards a few whippings after they missed the Spurrier years combined with when they were on probation.
Hey, maybe we should alternate, rotate playing FSU for 4 consecutive years followed by Miami for 4 consecutive years. At the end of the time, we pick who we want to retain as a permanent partner. The crapola coming out of Miami these days can't be any worse with Reverend Richt than Dumbo.

I'm not upset with the Manuel even though he is a filthy pile of dog shit, I'm upset with FSU. No, Manuel wasn't payback for Fowler. It was FSU being a dirty recruiting program. I never said it was illegal. I said it was dirty and unacceptable. Nothing you can say changes that.

You're right, nothing I can say will change your mind...but nothing you say will change mine, so it seems we're at an impasse. 2. However, with that said, you still haven't come up with this "Sunday before NSD" thing for Fowler, which you originally said in defense of what happened with Manuel, so there's that... 3. You say you aren't upset with Manuel, then proceed to call him a filthy pile of dog shit, so there's that... And...4. You've gone so far as to suggest UF end the series with FSU over the actions of a 17 year old kid. Yet, you aren't upset. At all. Nothing I'm saying is changing anything. Your words are doing a pretty darned good job all on their own.

Gotta take the good with the bad. We endured plenty of heartbreakers from Miami when they were good and bad. Now, we're in position to finally take over the head-to-head series lead. Still need a couple more nattys to catch the Canes in that race as well. After that, we'll run you Gators down after spotting you a 17 game head start...

Fine, let's trade Miami for FSU and see if the candy canes can do better than this bullshit UF is putting up with from FSU. I hate to agree with an FSU fan on anything, but UF hasn't always been squeaky clean about things either. When Muschamp was in town there were plenty of stories of a UF bagman operating in south Florida. One thing about an area like Miami, all the kids know each other and they talk. When someone gets paid some of the kids just cannot keep their mouths shut. Some are just stupid, like the big DT from Hialeah a few years ago, Leminor, or something like that, who posted pictures of his new corvette on his Facebook account after shocking everyone by choosing Clemson. Some are more subtle about things, but generally word gets out into the community and before long becomes well known. I know for a fact that Miami spread cash around in the old days. I don't think Shannon did, but he was so clueless about his assistants operating with Shapiro that I suspect a few of the money stories from those days were true, even though most of the Shapiro stories were eventually proven to be fiction. I don't think Golden got into it. If he did, he sure was terrible at it as he didn't win a lot of the battles for the top guys. I'd be very surprised if Richt gets his hands dirty. As for coaches playing games, we got confirmation on FSU with a couple of top recruits when they hired James Coley away from FSU a few years ago. He came in and immediately informed Golden that a couple of guys who were solid silent commits to Miami were actually also silently committed to FSU and had been told not to let Miami know. As we said, it goes on everywhere. Some more than others. Not good for the game, IMO, but it is what it is.

Clemson was pretty active in south Florida for a while. I think it was the receiver from the west coast that went to Clemson. Later the story of how his family greatly benefited from that decision came to light. Sammy Watkins.

I'm not going to post any of the articles as I don't like the way they are written in a spirit of celebration, but Treon Harris is working out with the WR corp. I hope it works out. Treon did the best he could last year and should be thanked by all Gators. I'm not sure UF would have won more than 1 game after Will Grier got himself suspended without having Treon at QB no matter how bad it got at times.
Darrell, didn't you say Treon was advised by his father and other advisers coming out of high school that he should be at CB? I'm pretty sure FSU recruited him as a CB.

FSU was going to give him a shot at QB, but if memory serves, Fisher told him he thought his future was at another position.

His dad and both older brothers were Canes. Brandon in football and the other brother in track. I believe Ice, his dad, was all in on his being able to play QB. He was his head coach in high school. Many insisted he was just too small to play QB at the upper levels of college football. Golden told him straight up he was a slot receiver or a defensive back. He was committed to FSU as a QB, but when Musty went all in on letting him play QB that is when he switched. All along everyone was telling him that he would be switched from QB to one of the other positions at FSU the moment he stepped on campus and I think that may have had something to do with the ease of his switching to the Gators.

I can see him playing slot WR and getting some wildcat play at QB. If last season proved anything, he can't play fulltime QB at a power 5 conference level.
