Robbie Andreu at the Gainesville Sun has an analysis of UF's roster up at the Sun. Per normal, UF will likely have 3 to 5 transfers after spring so both walkon QBs plus maybe a graduate transfer or two will come onboard before fall camp opens. UF should be in the low 80s entering the season, 2 or 3 under the 85 limit. This is normal for UF as Jeremy Foley doesn't allow oversigning as of NSD in February. I do wish he would allow UF to oversign by a couple of players to account for the usual after spring transfers:
Robbies Playbook Gators by the numbers Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:13 by Robbie Andreu In Jim McElwain’s first year, the Gators had so few offensive linemen that it made it difficult to practice in the spring and forced Florida to have a spring scrimmage instead of a traditional spring game.
That won’t be a problem in year two. Through recruiting, early enrollment and a transfer, the Gators’ numbers on the offensive line are back where they need to be. This spring, there will be 14 scholarship linemen on the roster. The number will rise to 16 in the fall with the addition of two more true freshmen — Brett Heggie and Jawaan Taylor. If everyone stays healthy, the Gators will have more than three full offensive lines to work with when preseason camp opens in August.
Overall, Florida’s scholarship numbers are solid at every position except linebacker, where the Gators will have only six scholarship players this spring — Jarrad Davis, Alex Anzalone, Daniel McMillian, Matt Rolin, Rayshad Jackson and early enrollee David Reese. The number will only grow by two in the fall with the addition of true freshmen Vosean Joseph and Jeremiah Moon. Defensive tackle also is a bit of a concern because the Gators did not sign any and have only seven on scholarship.
UPDATED: Heading into the spring, the Gators will have 70 scholarship players on the roster. That number will grow to 83 with the addition of 12 true freshmen and junior college transfer Joseph Putu this summer, leaving UF only two off the scholarship limit of 85.
Here’s a position-by-position look at the scholarship players heading into the spring:
Quarterback (four) — Kyle Trask and Feleipe Franks. Arriving this summer — no new additions. (Updated note: transfer Luke Del Rio and graduate transfer Austin Appleby are walk-ons).
Running back (five) — Jordan Cronkrite, Jordan Scarlett, Mark Thompson, Case Harrison and Mark Herndon. Arriving this summer — Lamical Perine.
Tight end (four) — DeAndre Goolsby, C’yontai Lewis, Moral Stephens and Camrin Knight. Arriving this summer — no new additions.
Wide receiver (12) — Treon Harris, Brandon Powell, Ahmad Fulwood, Dre Massey, Josh Hammond, C.J. Worton, Antonio Callaway, Freddie Swain, Chris Thompson, Kalif Jackson, Ryan Sousa and Alvin Bailey. Arriving this summer — Tyrie Cleveland and Rick Wells.
Offensive line (14) — Antonio Riles, Travaris Dorsey, Kavaris Harkless, Cameron Dillard, T.J. McCoy, Tyler Jordan, Nick Buchanan, Brandon Sandifer, Richerd Desir-Jones, Stone Forsythe, Martez Ivey, Fred Johnson, Andrew Mike and David Sharpe. Arriving this summer — Brett Heggie and Jawaan Taylor.
Defensive end (seven) — Jordan Sherit, Jordan Smith, Jabari Zuniga, Bryan Cox Jr., Keivonnis Davis, Cece Jefferson and Justus Reed. Arriving this summer — Antonneous Clayton and Jachai Polite.
Defensive tackle (seven) — Khairi Clark, Thomas Holley, Caleb Brantley, Andrew Ivie, Joey Ivie, Taven Bryan and Luke Ancrum. Arriving this summer — no new additions.
Linebacker (six) — Jarrad Davis, Alex Anzalone, Daniel McMillian, Matt Rolin, David Reese and Rayshad Jackson. Arriving this summer — Vosean Joseph and Jeremiah Moon.
Defensive back (10) — Quincy Wilson, Jalen Tabor, Duke Dawson, Nick Washington, Marcus Maye, McArthur Bennett, Chauncey Gardner, Marcell Harris, Kylan Johnson and Chris Williamson. Arriving this summer — Quincy Lenton, C.J. McWilliams, Jeawon Taylor and Joseph Putu.
Kicker (two) — Austin Hardin and Eddy Pineiro. Arriving this summer — no new additions.
Punter (one) — Johnny Townsend. Arriving this summer — no new additions.

That's a bad thing? We owe those bastards a few whippings after they missed the Spurrier years combined with when they were on probation.
Hey, maybe we should alternate, rotate playing FSU for 4 consecutive years followed by Miami for 4 consecutive years. At the end of the time, we pick who we want to retain as a permanent partner. The crapola coming out of Miami these days can't be any worse with Reverend Richt than Dumbo.
Gotta take the good with the bad. We endured plenty of heartbreakers from Miami when they were good and bad. Now, we're in position to finally take over the head-to-head series lead. Still need a couple more nattys to catch the Canes in that race as well. After that, we'll run you Gators down after spotting you a 17 game head start... Thr Lizard fans weren't so pissy until FSU beat them 5 of the last 6 years.

Lol...convenient timing. Miami currently is a shadow of what they were when you dropped them from the schedule and replaced them with Montana State.... That's a bad thing? We owe those bastards a few whippings after they missed the Spurrier years combined with when they were on probation.

I think it should be pointed out that it was not Miami's idea to miss the Spurrier years. Miami has always been open and ready to play UF every year. And we didn't miss Spurrier completely, beating the Gators in the 2000 Sugar Bowl. Finally, what crapola is coming out of Miami these days? I admit, I don't keep up with football stuff nearly as much as I use to, but I haven't heard much of any rumors out of south Florida for quite a while now.

JMHO, Reverend Richt will win big in Miami without stinking the joint up, conducting a nasty series with UF the way Dumbo seems intent in doing and the way Miami coaches of the past did, and may be the best chance for UF and Miami to get past the hatred of the past. Since I don't think UF can play the SEC and both FSU and Miami every year, how do you feel about alternating every 4 years with FSU?

This would be funny if it came from a fan, but it came from inside the FSU football program:

Not only is FSU classless for going out of its way to get that last TD with less than a minute left in the game, they continue to pile the shit up.

Personally, I think the Big Three should play each other every year. We should then find a way to work UCF, USF and probably eventually FAU and FIU into some sort of rotation. As for nasty relations, I know the fans for the most part have practiced hatred back and forth for years, but I don't really recall anything particularly nasty between Miami and Florida in the past. The Gator Flop is still a touchy subject with many.

The Gator Flop is still a touchy subject with many. UF playing FSU and Miami every year isn't going to happen. Barring a switch out between the two, UF is only going to play Miami sporadically like the possible neutral site game in Orlando to open the 19 season. If your attitude reflects Miami views, FSU will remain the top ooc game in Florida on an annual basis.
Don't recall anything nasty between UF and Miami? You must not have been paying attention to the years of accumulated culture of corruption in Miami from the perspective of UF fans and a strong dislike between the fan bases and coaching staffs dating back to the Gator Flop that borders on hatred. Reality to UF is FSU is likely the best case of two evils for the foreseeable future.

Not in terms of wins/losses. Since when did you become able to see the future? Because I see the current disparity in talent between Miami and FSU right now and for the immediate future.

The key factor there is, as you stated, the culture of corruption in Miami, from the perspective of UF fans. The fans, particularly the young fans, particularly the Greek kids, treat other teams fans like shit pretty much everywhere I've been to a game. I've been embarrassed by Miami fans at the Orange Bowl sure, but I've also seen Gator fans and FSU fans absolutely show their butts there as well. Particularly as I've gotten older I've found that it's much more fun to approach other teams fans with the offer of food and drink and fellowship. Sit around the tailgate and just visit and have fun before and after the games.

Makes for a more pleasant atmosphere for sure. When UF & UM or UM and FSU get together there is almost always a fight or two in the stands, particularly night games when they have all been drinking all day long. Attendance might fall off if they outlawed alcohol in the parking lots, but I think there would definitely be fewer fights.
