Gators WR Targets Prioritized: www.seccountry.com/florida/florida-recruiting-wr-targetsI know Anthony Schwartz committed to Auburn at the Army All-Star game, but the kid is from Florida, had UF in the lead before the McElwain firing, and he wants to play football plus be on the track team. There are no better track teams in America than the UF. If he makes his way to UF for an official visit, I can see him flipping to UF. The problem is he is ideal for the slot and that is the spot #1 recruit Jacob Copeland is penciled in for if he pulls the trigger for UF. Should Watkins pull the trigger on his visit this weekend, Schwartz may not get the chance to change his mind. JMHO, he should have visited his dream school since the coaching change, UF, rather than focusing on the coaching staff changes. Wasn't he the one you were asking me about several months ago, about whether Miami wanted him or not? I think they did finally give him an offer but everything I've heard he has always been basically a back up, plan B kind of a guy. True track guy who happens to play football instead of a really fast football player. That may be why Schwartz is 4th down UF's wish list. I've read he's a Jeff Demps except at WR. If I could get that kind of speed, I'd take it. Speed kills. It wouldn't hurt if he helped UF to another track & field national championship either.

Guys on the Miami boards who live in the area and have watched him play a lot note that he is very far from a polished receiver. His greatest asset would likely be in the return game. He may develop as a receiver but it would take some time. I guess a team would have to be confident enough in their receiver depth to take someone as a receiver primarily to return kicks.

This withdrawal from the university is overdue. Jordan Smith is right behind Telfort: www.seccountry.com/florida/suspended-4-star-offensive-lineman-kadeem-telfort-withdrawing-floridaWith Callaway trying to get himself rehabilitated for the NFL draft, Telfort, and Smith soon, there are still 6 suspended players that should be decided on before the end of the month as in staying or going. I no longer care about the 6 players, but I do care whether UF is affected in the 2018 recruiting class by delayed decisions. First the players screwed the 2017 season. They can't be allowed to screw the 2018 recruiting class too.

Very sorry to see that Randy Russel out of Miami, a UF safety, is being forced into early retirement with cardiomyopathy.

No news on the remaining 6 suspended players. It's imperative that something is known before the end of the 18 recruiting season. If they all come back, fine. If not UF should be free to replace them via new recruits or transfers.

Tim Tebow and Peter Alonso have been invited to play spring training with the New York Mets. Alonso who was the starting first baseman on the 2016 Gators baseball team is a very good prospect. Tebow is still a work in progress, but he did improve over the second half of the A ball season after starting off hitting below the Mendoza Line. I wish fun and success for both Tebow and Alonso: www.seccountry.com/florida/tim-tebow-invited-new-york-mets-spring-training-teamGo Mets!

Maybe at this point he will finally stick somewhere. Watkins has been a bit flaky.

Why do people like you think that just because Saban gets all these recruits he must be paying them? It's an easy sell when you have dozens drafted each year.
After 10 years it's time to move on from his dolphins departure

Looks like credit cardgate is finally over. Four of the five remaining players are in school and have been cleared to return to team activities on Wednesday, 1/24/2018. The only player left to account for is DE Keovonnis Davis who was injured in the fall in a scooter accident. Nothing was said about him, but my guess is, presuming he is in school, that he will return to team activities when he recovers from the accident. If not, he'll make player 5 of the 9 to leave the program. Either way, I'm sure Mullen and staff already know his disposition: www.seccountry.com/florida/rb-jordan-scarlett-three-suspended-gators-cleared-return-team-activities
