Maybe at this point he will finally stick somewhere. Watkins has been a bit flaky. The way I understand it, Watkins was set to decide between bama and LSU going into the Under Armour game. Something changed, either himself or bama and LSU weren't ready to take his commitment, doubtful for both with a 4 star receiver, which opened a window for UF to move in. He's a Florida kid from Clermont so I'm not thinking he's going to change again at this late date.

Looks like credit cardgate is finally over. Four of the five remaining players are in school and have been cleared to return to team activities on Wednesday, 1/24/2018. The only player left to account for is DE Keovonnis Davis who was injured in the fall in a scooter accident. Nothing was said about him, but my guess is, presuming he is in school, that he will return to team activities when he recovers from the accident. If not, he'll make player 5 of the 9 to leave the program. Either way, I'm sure Mullen and staff already know his disposition: www.seccountry.com/florida/rb-jordan-scarlett-three-suspended-gators-cleared-return-team-activitiesIs this what you mean when you refer to, how is it you put it, the "culture of corruption" when talking about Miami?

Oh Nick found him a passer last night and he's flush with money. You guys are going to have to step up. Why do people like you think that just because Saban gets all these recruits he must be paying them? It's an easy sell when you have dozens drafted each year.
After 10 years it's time to move on from his dolphins departureWell, first, I actually celebrated Nick leaving the Dolphins. I didn't want him to start and never thought his style would translate to success in the NFL. So there, so much for that argument. Now, why do I think schools with great recruiting success pay recruits? Seriously? Over the years I've seen enough first hand and had enough actual contact with people that work in the system who privately confirm much of what we hear about. If you don't think most of the big university programs have bagmen laying cash on top recruits then I'd like to talk to you about a great deal I can make you on Seven Mile Bridge.

Yes, if UF had covered it up and participated in the wrong doing, but no. Besides, my belief in the culture of corruption at Miami starts and stops with recruiting. We'll see if Reverend Richt can get it done without cheating.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen somewhere like Old Miss a couple of years ago or Miami, what was it about 10 years ago, that booster was paying for all kinds of stuff for players like strippers and such, Saban has no reason to pay players when they join a pipeline to the NFL. Same could be said for Ohio St. or Uga, or even Uf. Do you really think any of those schools are paying their players?

Florida isn't a big university program by this definition. If Jacob Copeland signs with bama instead of UF, the telling sign will be when he is seen driving around Tuscaloosa in a pick'em up truck. That's the way it works at bama. Florida players can be seen riding on motor scooters to get around campus.

This is about as bogus as your claims of the SEC offices being in Birmingham as an advantage for Alabama.

This is a good story on the subject, tells how Bag Man operates...allegedly.
"The Bag Man excuses himself to make a call outside, on his "other phone," to arrange delivery of $500 in cash to a visiting recruit." www.sbnation.com/college-football/2014/4/10/5594348/college-football-bag-man-interview

I know programs like Alabama, OSU, IF and yes, even Miami have paid for big name recruits. And honestly, whether you believe it or not makes no difference to me.

You may have seen it around Miami, but doubtful you observed anything of that nature at the other noted schools. Are you a retired college coach,a donating alumnist, former player?

I was actually involved with a high school football booster club here in Florida for a number of years. You would be amazed at what you will see and hear if you just keep your eyes and ears open.

You make a good point about the big time schools maybe not needing to do it but I would be VERY surprised if it wasn't still happening at those schools.
