I didn't hear that he was living the high life but it sure sounded like he had it better than other (less talented) players on the team did. He had a better year.
LMAO! Touche...

BTW, ET. Rumor is Mullins is cutting back recruiting South Florida, dropping to one assigned recruiter to the area from three because he doesn't feel they have done that well down here. Also heard your running backs coach, now tight ends coach, mat be leaving for Penn State.

Lies. All lies.
FWIW, I went to OU with Joe Washington too...played a ton of basketball with him and lots of other fotball guys. Truth is, Little Joe wasn't living the high life back then. I didn't hear that he was living the high life but it sure sounded like he had it better than other (less talented) players on the team did. It didn't get much from August - Current for good reason.

Also heard your running backs coach, now tight ends coach, mat be leaving for Penn State. Seider is already gone and is rumored to be going to PSU. Mullen brought over Greg Knox with him after the MSU bowl game. As you may recall, Knox was the Interim HC for MSU's bowl game win. There is already a rumored replacement for Seider, but I have forgotten his name. He was once the OC at Tennessee. I haven't seen any report that UF is abandoning south Florida. There may be recruits elsewhere, see Noah Boykin 4 star CB from Maryland who decommitted Maryland last night and is high on DBU UF, but I doubt Mullen is pulling out of south Florida. As you know, UF has done quite well there in the past except the latest crop had players on the suspension list. EDIT: Just a rumor, but Larry Scott is rumored to be a possibility to replace Seider: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Scott_(American_football)caneswatch.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2016/01/04/larry-scott-leaving-miami-hurricanes-for-tennessee/He was at Tennessee two years, first as TEs coach and then was promoted to Cry Baby Jones OC for 2017. If this happens, I'd take Scott over Seider every time. Seider is out as he didn't like being bumped from RB coach to TE coach to make room for Greg Knox.

UF is looking to sign 9 players on NSD tomorrow to go with the 13 who signed in the early signing period for a total of 22 in the 2018 class. This number was directly impacted by the 4 returning suspended players. There may be 1 more suspended player returning too if he can physically recover from his scooter accident last fall: www.seccountry.com/florida/florida-recruiting-percentage-chancesIt looks odd showing 7 predictions to UF, but Zach left off two whom are fully committed to UF. There is some speculation that there could be a surprise signing tomorrow, but I never hold my breath on that type of rumor. If this is the way things end up for UF, it'll be a class ranked +- #10 on the recruiting sites. Considering the awful 2017 season and the coach firing, I don't see how it could be any better. I was expecting much worse.

UF makes more sense for him than UM at this point.

All things considered, this was a good transition class. UF signed 19 players including Randy Russell who career ended due to an enlarged heart wall condition when discovered during physical after he arrived on campus in January. UF is also a possibility with a highly rated JUCO DE, Dorian Gerald, who will apparently decide between UF and Texas A&M on Friday. The 2018 recruiting class: nsd.floridagators.com/Dan Mullen said at his PM presser that he did more 2019 recruiting than he did for 2018 today. The way he said this concluded the 18 class made me think UF wasn't actively going after Dorian Gerald, but that may only be because he can only speak publically about signed players. To sum up, UF missed on 3 projected players while picking up 1 unexpected player: Missed On: Caleb Johnson - 4 star LB to Nebraska - no big loss after seeing his hot dog act followed by him wanting to play immediately Noah Boykin - 4 star CB to Notre Dame - hurts because he would have given DBU some good depth Caleb Johnson - 3 star DE to Auburn - UF was his second choice to AU, but it wasn't clear until today if AU had room for him Unexpected Pickup: Malik Langham - 4 star DE over Alabama - everyone had Langham to Alabama so this was a big surprise Although not predicted to UF, these players had UF as the second choice: Nicholas Petit-Frere - 5 star OL to Ohio State - looked at both ND and tOSU as he desired to go out of state, but seriously considered UF Nesta Silvera - 4 star DT to Miami - he had long been committed to Miami, but he seriously considered UF Malcolm Lamar - 4 star DE to Florida State - followed Willie Taggart from Oregon so he was just using UF's cap IMO Two transfer players who don't show up anywhere in recruiting: Trevon Grimes - WR from Ohio State - highly rated true freshman who dropped out of the team when family health issue occurred Van Jefferson - WR from Ole Miss - highly experienced and successful at Ole Miss Both are expected to be approved by the NCAA to play in 18. Grimes is a family hardship case and Jefferson because of the Ole Miss problems. All things considered, the poor 4-7 season, player suspensions, and coaching change, UF could have done a lot worse today. UF is ranked #14 on Scout, #16 on Rivals, and #17 on 247 Sports. The class is -3 players from originally projected, may still pick up Dorian Gerald on Friday, so this is a good transition class. It's truly a sad situation for safety Randy Russell who was diagnosed with thick heart wall condition when he arrived on campus as an early enrollee. UF is moving him to a medical scholarship. UF will be playing below the 85 limit again in 18, but not as low as when the 9 impact players were suspended last August. UF will probably start the 18 season with +-80 ship players depending on the usual after spring semester losses.

He sustained a severe, career ending injury in the first few minutes of the Bowl game and just had surgery this week. He is staying on scholarship with Miami, will graduate in three years and work on a Masters on his ride, and work with the coaching staff as a student assistant here on out.

Looking ahead to the 2019 class as we undersigned in 2018, I'm thinking UF will be able to sign +-28 in the 2019 class. With a full year, Dan Mullen is going to reel in a top 5 class.

Morning After NSD UF 2018 Class Rankings:
18 - ESPN 17 - 247 Sports 18 - Rivals 14 - Scout
I don't know the average player rankings for ESPN, but UF average player score rankings for the others are as follows:
14 - 247 Sports 7 - Rivals 11 - Scout
Mullen didn't have enough time in the saddle to get the number of quality/qualified players he would have wanted. UF is still one of the favorites to pick up Dorian Gerald on Friday. Gerald is rated 3 stars, but he is the #1 SDE coming out of JUCO ball. He would be a nice pick up for the DL. UF primary competition is Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Arkansas. JMHO, UF is already loaded with players like Gerald. If UF gets him, good for the depth. If UF doesn't get him, I don't see a big miss. I'm in the camp of wanting UF to sign a larger than normal class in 2019. The more 3-4 year Dan Mullen players on the roster the better.

How Dan Mullen's first class compares to other UF transition classes: www.seccountry.com/florida/florida-recruiting-transition-classThis confirms that Mullen has UF recruiting on the right track. He just ran out of time and quality/qualified players. I have no idea if this is true, but there are dueling rumors on Dorian Gerald. Neither are good for a UF decision by Gerald: 1. Malik Langham took Gerald's spot when he spurned home state Alabama to become a Gator. I'm not sure I believe this as DL was a priority and UF still has scholarships available. Mullen went to California to see him at school while simultaneously sending other coaches to visit his parents at their South Carolina home. Gerald is there now with a planned announcement at 6 PM EST today. 2. UF has backed off Gerald. The rumor goes that Gerald's parents want UF while Gerald himself wants to go elsewhere. Since he is an adult after spending two years at a California JUCO, I don't this Gerald needs his parents signature on his LOI for where he wants to go. However, I'm not sure on that. In either case, it doesn't look good for UF in the rumors department. On the flip side, Zach A. at SEC Country has Gerald as "Very Likely" to UF. We'll find out in about 3 hours.
