The word on Adam Shuler is he will enroll in August and will participate in summer camp. I hope he is on a workout schedule to get ready for football.

UF celebration of the 2008 national championship team on 10/6: floridagators.com/news/2018/7/9/football-10-years-later-homecoming-for-the-champs.aspxUrban Meyer will be in Columbus coaching against Indiana that day, but I'm sure the turnout will be very good with the exception of players on NFL rosters. Dan Mullen and Billy Gonzales will have to give up a few minutes of their halftime to participate on the field. The celebration will add just that much more hype for the LSU game.

Tim Tebow named to and will be inducted into The Ring of Honor on October 6 as part of honoring the 10 year reunion of the 2008 national championship Gator team: floridagators.com/news/2018/7/10/football-tim-tebow-named-to-ufs-ring-of-honor.aspxTimmy also has a statue next to Steve Spurrier and Danny Wuerffel plus "The Promise" is a fixture on the wall of The Swamp. My guess is Timmy will be in Gainesville regardless of his television football analyst responsibilities. UF is loading up for a tigger hunt on October 6.

Wins: Charleston Southern - Gimme Kentucky - 32 in a row to tie Oklahoma for 3rd longest consecutive win streak over major team in history Colorado State - The Rams are a better team than most think, but a win at Tennessee - UF has been better than UT for the past 12 years save the hiccup in Knoxville 2 years ago LSU - Tigers barely beat an injured UF squad with 10 suspended players last season at Vanderbilt - typical dores with good D and little O Missouri - UF isn't going to lose 2 homecoming games in a row + has better talent South Carolina - UF has better talent than the gamecocks Idaho - Gimme Losses: at Mississippi State - Wouldn't surprise me if the bulldogs and LSU switched columns as both teams have as many unknowns as UF Georgia in Jax - Can't wait to see the affect of the poodles playing without Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, but UGALY is as talented as anyone in the nation at Florida State - Too soon in Mullen tenure for a win in Tallahassee, but might be the best time to get it with both programs in change mode I reserve the right to make a final prediction after summer camp, but that's the way I see it for now. I think Vegas is a bit low with the over/under at 7.5. The above puts UF at 9-3 (6-2) finishing a game or two behind UGALY in the SEC East. Fair enough....although I think you’re a bit too confident regarding LSU and South Carolina. And I think UF has a talent gap on the roster when you get to the 2 deep. Mullen is a good coach though. Danny Sheridan was on Paul Finebaum yesterday. He said UF could win 9-10 games and that the cupboard isn't bare. He is falling in step with Phil Steele who has the Gators as his #1 most improved team of 2018. I guess that isn't hard to be after having 9 suspended player prior to the season, a boat load of injuries, and a team that finished 4-7. It's was heaven to be a 4&7er! I still plan to go on record with my final record prediction once I have some concrete news coming out of summer camp. Right now, nothing between 8-10 wins would surprise me. If I were a betting man, I'd be taking the over on Vegas' 7.5 wins over/under.

I didn't say the cupboard was bare, although quarterback is subpar right now (although there is younger talent that isn't ready IMO), along with offensive line. You have solid talent at RB, and really only 1 proven WR, although Toney is good as well. I'm not sold on the defensive talent overall, but time will tell. I just think from a talent perspective, you're a step down from UGA and FSU at least.

I just think from a talent perspective, you're a step down from UGA and FSU at least. The defense will show to be deep and talented. That side of the ball is the least of my concerns. QB must be settled with improved play. I don't know who will start at this point. RB is deep and talented. TE is good and experienced. WR goes out to 4 deep which is grossly inadequate, but I disagree that UF only has 1 proven WR. Van Jefferson, the cleared transfer from Ole Miss, Tyree Cleveland, Jonathan Hammond, and Kadarius Toney are all good. Beyond them, UF has a few true freshmen who need to step up as the other WRs have so far proven to be inadequate. The key to getting better QB play is to have the now deep and experienced OL actually step up and play better. This is the weakest link on the team so there is plenty of room for improvement. Special teams will be good. UF has another Townsend at punter and UF brought in one of the nations top place kickers. Based on what I know now, UF should enter fall camp with 81 ship player. Barring significant injuries in August, the Gators will be a much better team than the team that started the season in 17. All in all, 17 was a lost season for me before the opening kickoff of the 1st game. Besides the 9 suspended players, UF also lost 2 starters to season ending injuries during summer camp. I enjoyed the close early games, but when injuries mounted by mid season, the season finished falling completely apart. The McElwain firing was just the cherry on top of a hot fudge sundae. If the cupboard isn't bare as Phil Steele and Danny Sheridan speculate, the Gators could have a surprising season to the upside. I didn't like Dan Mullen when he was at Mississippi State because he was their sob. He's UF's sob now so I like him a lot. He will get the most out of his talent whether that's 8, 9, or 10 wins.

How do you project them compared to last year? Any nuggets would be appreciated.

If you have an update, I'd be interested in seeing a brief analysis of FSU 2018. How is your QB recovering from his injury last season? FSU's OL wasn't exactly a strong point either. How do you project them compared to last year? Any nuggets would be appreciated. A lot of it is unknown. New coaching staff and all that. There will be a quarterback battle, as it is said that Francois is 100% and will battle Blackman. Hockman has shown a lot of promise too, but I suspect he will be the #3 when all is said and done. The other two just have too much starting experience at this point. RB will be a strength as we are loaded. Our OL is a bit of an unknown. A simplified scheme should help, but we were great run blocking last year. Pass blocking was meh....that really has to improve. We have a lot of experience on the interior. Tackles are a question mark. We are thin there. Probably will have to try to fit a guard into a tackle spot. Tight end is young, but talented. Along with WR. We lost our best at both positions when Izzo and Tate declared. We do have Murray back at one WR spot, but we have a ton of great talent. Time will tell. Defensive front four will be very good, and deep. With major talent. Defensive secondary the same. Linebacker is the unknown. New starters, new scheme. Not a ton of depth, but we probably will only run 2 true linebackers in the base set, so maybe we can get away with it there. We have our special teams back. With a new scheme, I see us at 10-2, maybe 9-3. If we can put it together fast, maybe better. We have more talent than anyone on our schedule, except maybe Clemson, and even that is probably even, give or take. First game will say a lot. VT at home under the lights on Labor Day Night. If we can execute and win that game going away....could be a great season. Struggle and lose, some of the luster comes off in a hurry. The reality is probably in the middle. The Hokies have had a rough offseason, losing several starters to injury and/or discipline issues, so we honestly should win. Taggart has done everything right so far, and the fanbase is pretty excited. If we can just win, could be the start of something special.
