Pat Dooley picks the Gators by 7, 24-17 Robbie Andreu picks the Gators by 6, 16-10 ETGator1 picks the Gators by 14, 31-17 247 Swamp picks the Gators by 21, 34-13
Average: 26.25 Florida Vanderbilt 14.25, rounded down to 26-14 UF which is well below the over/under. I think Dooley and Andreu are a bit too conservative even though they are in line with the spread.
So far, nobody if picking the Gators to lose. After both Andreu and Dooley picked UF to lose the last 3 weeks, I'm surprised they picked UF to win.

Florida 37 Vanderbilt 27 floridagators.com/news/2018/10/13/football-the-quick-slant-florida-vanderbilt-oct-13.aspxThe Gators trailed 21-3 in the second quarter, 21-13 at the half, before settling down for the 37-27 win. The comeback ties the 18 point comeback road win at Kentucky (24-21) in 2003 for the largest comeback road wins in Florida history. The Gators covered the -7 Florida spread. Next Up: UGALY in Jax - the poodles are down 29-9 at LSU at the midpoint of the 4th quarter. I was hoping the poodles would come to Jax unbeaten, but it doesn't appear that will happen unless LSU collapses. As I write this, UGALY scored on a TD pass to make the score 29-16 with exactly 6 minutes to play.

Pat Dooley Grades the Gators at Vandy: www.gatorsports.com/2018/10/dooley-grades-the-gators-florida-is-bowl-eligible/The D which has been terrific was the weak link this week. (shaking head) The offense put up 37, would have been more without the 3 turnovers, and almost 600 yards of offense. It seems like every week the team is improving, but takes a step back for a tune up in some areas. This week it's the defense. I can't wait to see this team put all 3 phases together at the same time. Maybe Georgia? I hope so as we'll need it.

The team finally put all 3 phases together starting in the second half against South Carolina, at FSU in the 41-14 win, and 41-15 against Michigan in the Peach Bowl. Actually, special teams allowed 2 blocked punts to Michigan so there is still that moving forward with a step back growth going on as the season came to an end at 10-3. The Gators are a lock for a top 10 finish in the polls.

The recruiting season resumes next weekend with 3 weeks thereafter remaining until NSD. UF has now had 5 juniors to announce they will be moving on to the NFL draft:
Star: Chauncy Gardner-Johnson: No brainer to go out this year.
RT: Jawaan Taylor: No brainer to go out this year.
Rush DE: Jachai Polite: No brainer to go out this year.
RB: Jordan Scarlett: Ants in his pants - would have gone last year if he hadn't been suspended for the 2017 season in credit cardgate.
OLB: Vosean Joseph: I thought Vosean would come back for his senior season to improve his draft stock. He was UF's leading tackler, but he was frequently, too much to succeed in the NFL, out of position. He looks like a 4th to 5th round pick to me. He should stay.
There are rumors that another junior or two could also announce.
I'm not sure yet how all of this to the NFL movement is going to play out in the 2019 recruiting class. It may mean UF can/will take more than the 25/26 most were predicting, but 4 of the 5 above were likely anticipated. In any case, it'll be interesting to watch the recruiting developments.
One Transfer to Date:
WR Daquan Green - hasn't done anything at UF and isn't going to do anything at UF so a good transfer out.

Great news today:
UF picked up a high quality early enrollee today, Chris Steele - CB, who played in the US Army game today.
UF received word that RB LaMical Perine, DT Adam Shuler, and WR Van Jefferson are returning for their senior seasons. Combined with WR Tyrie Cleveland who announced yesterday that he was returning for his senior season, UF is looking outstanding for offensive playmakers in 2019.
The only way the news could be any better is to have DE Jabari Zuniga to decide to return to UF for his senior season. That would make two starting DL who could have gone pro deciding to stay with the Gators. Zuniga has until 1/14 to announce his intention. The tipoff to what Zuniga may be doing is UF is likely getting a graduate senior ACC all-conference rush DE in transfer from Louisville. However, with CeCe Jefferson graduating and Jachai Polite leaving early, it would be good to get the grad transfer and keep Zuniga.

Dan Mullen scripting offseason plays like a Boss: 247sports.com/college/florida/Article/Florida-Gators-Football-Dan-Mullen-scripting-plays-in-the-offseason-like-a-boss-for-UF-127401113/The news over the last few days has been outstanding: 1. 4 star WR Arjei Henderson whom most thought was a lock to Florida State 2. 4/5 star CB Chris Steele out of California who signed in December, is an EE, and announced at the US Army all-star game 3. WR Tyrie Cleveland returning 4. DE Jabari Zuniga returning 5. WR Van Jefferson returning 6. DT Adam Shuler returning 7. RB LaMical Perine returning 8. MLB David Reese II returning The UF recruiting class is up to 11 on 247 and 11 on the 247 Composite and is now projected to top off somewhere in the top 10, say 7-9 range. All of the good news offsets the juniors leaving early news that came immediately after the Gators 41-15 woodshed whipping of Michigan: 1. Star Chauncey Gardner 2. RT Jawaan Taylor 3. DE Jachai Polite 4. OLB Vosean Joseph 5. RB Jordan Scarlett The only junior leaving I think is a mistake is Vosean Joseph. He has the skills and the measurables, but he is a late round pick who could do a lot of good for himself coming back to get better and to improve his draft stock. He can still change his mind if he doesn't sign with an agent. Part of the news after the bowl game also is the transfer of WR Daquan Green who is rumored to be landing on a B1G team. He wasn't going to see the field at WR with UF so it is a good transfer for him to get playing time and for UF to open a roster position. It's a win/win situation.

Florida finished with its highest final AP ranking in 2018 since 2009: floridagators.com/news/2019/1/8/football-gators-ranked-no-7-in-final-ap-poll.aspxThe Gators finished in a tie with Georgia at #7. Four SEC teams finished in the top 10: 2. Alabama 6. LSU 7T. Florida 7T. Georgia With 12 Kentucky and 16 Texas A&M, the SEC finished with 6 of the top 16. Mississippi State, Auburn, and Missouri finished outside the top 25, but inside the top 34. That gives the SEC 9 of the top 34 teams.
