my opinion, i'd reverse the order on the offense list; 1. o-line, not just prince and jones, but guys like brady taylor at center, and demetrious knox/evan lisle, who backed up elflein and price this year and should be in the rotation in '16. 2. noah brown. the biggest single missing piece all season wasn't at qb... it was the hr threat on the outside. we will be very green at wr and he will need to break out. 3. curtis samuel. i still would put him back at rb. he's so talented w/the ball in his hands. 4. mike weber. dunn had his shot last season to beat out zeke, and couldn't. imho weber will be the starter. defense... again i start inside and work out 1. sam hubbard/nick bosa. we lose 3 starters on the d-line. hubbard played well in spots, as did tyquan lewis. w/jalyn holmes and bosa coming in, you have to like what we have at de. tackle? lots of questions. i was not as impressed w/sprinkle or munger when they played this year. i agree w/the author that michael hill was able to get off blocks ad make plays. depth is needed badly there. 2. marshon lattimore. w/bell, powell and apple all leaving, huge pressure on lattimore to be the shutdown cb he has the potential to be. 3. gareon conley. w/apple having an outstanding '15, conley got picked on. a ton. he will need to use that experience to pick up his game on the other corner. burrows will start at one safety spot. hooker i think battles conley for the other cb, w/smith at the other safety. 4. chris worley. man, first shazier and then darren lee. amazingly consecutive talent gaps to refill. worley's got a shot. mcmillan had a very good soph season. he and worley should work well together in nickle packages.

Buckeyes making an impact___ginn and corey brown each have a score as Carolina is up 17-0 on AZ A great nite. Norwell blowing holes open for run game, Corey getting 100+ receiving, teddy popped a good punt return and had some catches along w his reverse td run, and Coleman comes up w not just one but 2 picks, both in the endzone thwarting Cardinal scoring chances.

Obvious the OC or HC, or whoever, didn't grow up around the run game. On the QB keeper for TD on 3rd down, the first two running plays went right. However Norwell was in the endzone on 1st and second down after blowing the DL out of the way and burying the OLB 5 yards deep. He graded out 95-98%. When they finally decided to run the ball left off center/guard........big chunks were there. OSU led all teams with players in the NFL playoffs. OSU may not have the most players, just the better ones.

We're a week from NLOI day...still waiting on a couple decisions, but if we just have to go with what we have, we have a pretty decent group of players coming in... www.scout.com/college/ohio-state/2016-football-prospectsI'm always curious about guys listed as "Athletes." Hardman is the highest ranked guy on the undetermined list, and from what I've read, he's played CB/Safety and RB/Flanker in HS. He's not another QB who doesn't have the arm to play FBS CFB. It is going to be an interesting week, I think.

Seeing our best homegrown kids going elsewhere bugs me quite a bit, going all the way back into the 60s and our guys going north to come home & play over their heads to help beat us.

Catholic Schools. The CHS I was involved with for a time, when the ND head coach showed up, it was more like a school holiday. The coaches lined up to kiss is.........errr....ring. The Bishop in Columbus didn't receive that kind of attention.

if burrows hadn't gotten hurt, he might be the one leaving early for the draft instead of powell, who i don't think gets drafted (hope i'm wrong). i think cam will increase production on the back line of the defense. smith got more pt this year in dime/mop up duties than hooker, but i think malik has a great shot at winning the starting slot at the other safety spot.

I think most all the regulars here were regulars on the old AOHell boards...I thought of something the other day, and have been looking at a few things since then...let me see if this jogs some memories... Remember back in 2002? Our championship year? You might also remember in 2002 that USC started the season losing two of their first five games (Kansas St & Washington St) and then finished the season STRONG, looking good, and demolished Iowa in the Rose Bowl. All the talk, was how it was a shame that USC couldn't play in the BCS Championship Game, because they would have kicked our asses... REMEMBER? ...and USC's QB won the Heisman Trophy that year...none other than Carson Palmer. Carson Palmer...13 years in the NoFunLeague...three playoff appearances...three shabby performances. So Peyton Manning can retire after losing SB 50 as the Choke King...the Choke Prince is in the wings, just waiting to be crowned.

tidbits... -malcolm jenkins was named as a replacement pro bowler this week. that makes 7 of the last 8 nfl pro bowls where at least one ex-buckeye has been named as a db for that game. -sport nation is saying that braxton miller is turning heads at the senior bowl practices this week, and that he is virtually impossible to guard. that's great... that also begs the question why our qb's couldn't find him more often this past fall. -nice article in the dispatch today on andrew norwell. panthers picked him up as a free agent in '14 (1 of 3 osu linemen on the '13 squad who were all starters as rookies last year, and continued this year). one ranking service ranks him 8th in terms of highest effectiveness as a guard in the entire nfl. carolina has rushed for 100+ yards in 31 straight games now... in the pros that's approaching historic modern status. norwell is part of the reason why.
