Good thing the Michigan fans, and Knebraska fan don't read this board. Why? Ohio has more varsity sports teams than any other B1G school. I would expect them to have the highest number of award recipients.

Do they have permanent lights there? Not meant to be a stupid question; we just put 'em in 2 years ago.

I know there was talk of doing it but I can't recall when they were scheduled to be installed. Mark, do you know?

Trouble brewing in Columbus this morning. There was an all-hands-on-deck meeting with the team before 7am then a police report listing Carlos Hyde as a person of interest in an assault against a woman has surfaced. A writer for 11W reached out to the woman but she declined to comment.
An announcement is expected by the school at some point today but it is not looking good. Assuming Hyde was involved, I suspect Urban Meyer will deal with this swiftly (and harshly) in light of the Aaron Hernandez situation.

Looks like Little Prince Urban is bringing in more woman beaters. Stay classy, Urban.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saw this on Bucknuts....
According to numerous sources, Carlos Hyde was involved in an incident Saturday evening off campus.
Hyde and a few teammates went to the Sugar Bar downtown and eventually made their way up to the second floor. Hyde approached a young woman and asked her to dance. She rebuffed his request, and per one source told him to “(eff) off” and then pushed him away.
According to several sources, Hyde then struck the woman in the face and she was knocked unconscious for an estimated 5 minutes. Hyde then ran from the bar before police could get involved. The woman had a CAT scan the following morning and is said to be doing fine.
The same source informed us that the young woman’s father is a Columbus PD officer currently serving his third tour in Afghanistan.
At the time of publishing, a police report regarding this incident was still not available for the public. Multiple sources inform us that the matter is still “under investigation” and that’s why no police report or formal charges have been released.
“A detective is currently being assigned (to the case), but that probably won’t happen until Tuesday,” a source said.
As for what Urban Meyer will do with Hyde, it’s unclear at this point, but we have a difficult time imagining Hyde will ever play for the Buckeyes again if this information is true.
“I have a friend who works in the OSU athletic department and he confirms everything (printed above) is substantially correct,” another source said. “He noted that everyone at the Woody is tuned into social media and that an immediate denial would’ve been issued if this was untrue. Official word will be released after the team meeting (today).”
Per an OSU spokesman, the Buckeyes will release “something later today” about a player, but he did not name the player.

Mark, do you know? they were approved last year, but what I read was that it will be either next year or '15 when they get installed. the press box (west side) has been set up for lights since the stadium redesign back in '00. hate to be a stick in the mud traditionalist, but I have mixed feelings. it will look a little weird, the shoe w/lights on it. night games are fun... but I hope we don't start seeing a majority of home games under them. mark scott tosu 81

I hadn't heard of hyde getting in any prior trouble... but if he's charged w/assaulting a woman, there's no other choice that to suspend him indefinitely. mark scott tosu 81
