I think they CAN pull it off, but you never know with youngsters...Maybe ice-cold blood running thru their veins, or their performance under pressure could be ice-cold. But I'd like to see something done for the first time at OSU...Back to back, and Gate to Gate / start to finish #1. This is an opportunity. but it isn't just the kids that we have worry about choking at game time. dale... buddy. meyer is 61-5 in his 5 yrs here. osu has never finished worse than a tie for 1st in the division. 3-1 in post season bowl/playoff games, 4-2 counting the big 10 ccg. 5-0 vs um. vs teams that osu lost to the previous year, meyer is 8-0. and you're talking about choking in big games? Not him. As I said a few years ago about Herman...coaches have to grow into this also. From preparation, to calling plays, to looking ahead to prepare for halftime adjustments. For the most part, it ISN'T enough to just be 'pretty good' at Iowa State or Kansas. Stepping up & dealing with the pressure & expectations in Columbus is different. Maybe one could point at CUFM and blame him for not stepping in earlier, recognizing that there was a problem. Others might think it is better to allow the coach to develop what it takes on their own. There is a happy medium, and there were a couple things that may have been put off too long. But losing to MSU worked with Herman, obviously. Sometimes, you have to trust, and hope for the best.

Just wow. not making any excuses, but #1, #2, and #3 happen with just about every coach who's considering making a move. #4 made me laugh out loud. that, if true, was classless.

Lots of buzz__Fickell to Cincy Cincinnati will hire Ohio State defensive coordinator Luke Fickell, according to multiple reports, including a sourced story by ESPN. According to that ESPN report, Fickell and the Bearcats reached an agreement late Friday night and an official announcement will come late Saturday. Fickell, 43, replaces Tommy Tuberville, who resigned last Sunday. Tuberville was 29-22 in four seasons with the Bearcats, but managed just a 4-8 record this season. Fickell, a former Ohio State defensive lineman, has been with his alma mater since 2002 and has served as a defensive coordinator in every season since 2005. In 2011, he was the school’s interim head coach following the resignation of coach Jim Tressel amid an NCAA investigation regarding players trading autographs and memorabilia for tattoos and cash. The Buckeyes went 6-7 under Fickell before hiring current coach Urban Meyer. Fickell is the third assistant from Ohio State’s 2014 national championship team to become a head coach joining Tom Herman, now at Texas, and Chris Ash at Rutgers.

jodi asks me why i watch, weekly. when i was busy putting up lights, getting our tree, etc all afternoon yesterday, she said, 'you finally gave up on the browns, eh?'. i hesitated for a moment, wondering if i could score some points without telling her that they actually had a bye. They had a bye? Did they win?
