14: can sign up to 18 so long as 3 are early enrollees counting back to 2013 when signed 12 15: can sign 25 coming out from under ship reductions plus the number less than 18 signed in 14 as EEs if doesn't sign 18 16: can sign 25 I don't think SC can sign 40 just because they are below the 85 limit. Having reduced rosters until annual recruiting catches up is part of the ship reductions and penalty process. Ten ships reduction a year over 3 years was huge. SC will put together good seasons, but reduced rosters will likely keep them from the top of college football until the roster size gets back to the upper 70s to 85 max range. I must say that every single word you have written in the past few years about USC and the sanctions have been, regrettably, dead on. As I survey the last and next few seasons, I begin to wonder what the heck either Kiffin or Sarkisian was thinking when they took the job... Mark it on your calendar. The 2nd Annual USC Spring Dance, held over the top of Paul Dee's grave, is scheduled for the April 1. The Hallelujah Choir will be performing. Walter, I lived through the NCAA sanctions with UF in the mid to late 80's. It not an easy thing to forget. UF had 3 consecutive 6-5 seasons before getting the roster back to normal starting in 1989. By the time Spurrier arrived in 1990, the Gators were hungry and ready to take on the college football world with a bit of a chip on their shoulders. I expect 14 and 15 to be tough for SC, but in 16 the Trojans should be ready to rumble again. Still, with the 10-4 record, SC has done better than UF was able to do in the late 80's. UF had Emmitt Smith to boot.

Max Wittek decides to transfer. The QB that Cody Kessler beat out, and that Max Browne was gaining on, has decided to transfer.
Amazingly, the kid has two years of eligibility left and will graduate in the spring. Not bad. I wish the kid the best. After all, USC had a backup behind Carson Palmer that ended up starting for teams in the NFL.

Yep...I think he played in, like, 10 games in 3 years, all in garbage time, yet got drafted and ended up taking over in NE when Brady got injured.

...lot of chatter out here that USC is about to land the three top uncommitted five stars tomorrow in Mama, Jackson and Smith. This could get VERRRRRRRRY interesting if that happens. If it doesn't, it could set USC back, because they seem to be saving their final 3 slots for them and if they don't get them, it puts the kibosh on the recruiting season for them.

Adoree' Jackson is still in play with UF. Both insider writers at Gator Country are predicting UF.
It looks like SC is wanting to max out at 18 in this class and then sign 25 in 15:
14: can sign up to 18 so long as 3 are early enrollees counting back to 2013 when signed 12 15: can sign 25 coming out from under ship reductions plus the number less than 18 signed in 14 as EEs if doesn't sign 18
SC currently has 15 committed recruits.
Edit - What the Gator Country writers predict for Adoree' Jackson:
CB Adoree’ Jackson
Info on Jackson: Jackson is a superstar track athlete and is a heck of a football player that visited Florida for Friday Night Lights but never took an official to Florida. Jackson did visit USC and UCLA over the weekend with his mom but for only a short time.
Andrew Spivey Prediction: Florida - Track wins Jackson over for Florida, plus the ability to play in the SEC where Jackson has been rumored to have said he wants to play. Jackson is an athlete that the Gators need.
Nick de la Torre Prediction: Florida - There was a lot made out of Jackson’s visit to USC last weekend but if I know anything about Jackson it’s that he marches to the beat of his own drum. The conventional school of thought about what you think you know about recruiting can be thrown out of the window with him. Jackson said that he saw all he needed to see out of Florida when he visited over the summer and I think the Gators land their man on Wednesday.
As a counter balance, all except one writer on Rivals has Jackson going to SC. I'm more inclined to believe Rivals, less sunshine pumping and better accuracy.
Congrats to SC if you pull Jackson. This kid should be a superstar.

This kid should be a superstar. Well, so far, USC landed one of three they targeted. Damien Mama, #1 OG signed with USC. That gives USC the #1 and #5 OG prospects in this class... Jackson and Smith to go.

I'm OK with SC a 2/3 success rate with the three 5 star players. Steaksauce is probably heart broken with the Mama decision.

Congrats to SC for getting Adoree' Jackson. He's not that good and UF didn't really want him.

Not as heartbroken as you are with the Adoree decision You're probably right. I had visions of Adoree' playing a Percy Harvin type roll on the UF spread offense. I know he's the #3 CB, but I see this kids future on offense.

Hopefully he can stay healthier than Percy has. Imagine Percy Harvin had he not been plagued by injuries. The difference is I don't think Adoree' is a fast as Percy, but he could have successfully filled Percy's roll at UF. What Percy did in the Super Bowl was outstanding. He should have been the Super Bowl MVP. Minus injuries, he's capable of doing that every time he hits the field. I'm sure Pete Carroll is ecstatic to have him in Seattle.
