Did anyone notice the missiles we gave them are supersonic? You know, the kind they said we don't have and wouldn't have for years. Perhaps you are conflating supersonic w hypersonic missiles (supersonic on steroids). There are both subsonic and supersonic missiles. The first widely recognized supersonic missile, the V-2 rocket, was developed and deployed by Nazi Germany during World War II, more than 70 yrs ago. Today Russia, China and the USA are the leaders in hypersonic technology. Add in India and N Korea behind those three. Australia, France, Germany and Japan have also started to pursue hypersonic weapon development. Iran, Israel and South Korea reportedly have started conducting foundational research on hypersonic weaponry. Does the USA have them? Sure but they aren't giving them away for obvious reasons. Russia claims they've used them in their current conflict.

How can you get everything backwards all the time?
Bitem's stupid move with those ATACMS missiles is like whacking a hornet's nest with a stick.
www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvg5l1220zxo
Putin has not softened on Ukraine at all. In fact, he has started using North Korean troops to help his side. There are reports of Iran, North Korea and China producing and supplying weapons systems to Russia for its war in Ukraine. How does the U.S. plan to stop THAT, without going to war with those countries, too?
No one but Putin knows what he will do next. Whatever it is, it won't be in Ukraine or the West's favor.
I doubt that even President Trump will be able to stop this conflict in a manner that satisfies both sides.
Seems like the notion of Russia beating the shit out of Ukraine in short order is belied by the fact that, here we are, a couple of years later, and Russia is needing new weapons and troops from geopolitical allies to fight the battle further. Only because Ukraine has been getting weapons from the U.S. to keep them going. Now that Russia is getting more weapons from ITS allies, this thing is going to continue to drag out.

Further weakening our adversaries. You can’t really deny that, for the most part, Russia has been largely humiliated in this conflict. Lost thousands of troops, front line equipment and personnel. Nonsense. When do we plan to invade China, North Korea, or Iran? Their being "weak" means nothing when our own military is weakened by sending OUR munitions to Ukraine. So not only do we lose the value of those weapons we send, we also have to go farther in debt to replace them and replenish or strengthen our own supplies. The U.S. is paying TWICE to defend one dictatorship from another one.
You don't fight wars over "humiliation." Wars are fought because one country wants something the other one has. Putin is KGB. He does NOT humiliate. He is a cold blooded killer and he will do what it takes to achieve his goal.
How many American soldiers should we send to Ukraine to die or be maimed for THEM? You fools want to defend Ukraine's border while at the same time wanting OUR borders to disappear.

It’s not nonsense. It’s the truth. Russia has approximately 300,000 casualties from this war. 120,000 deaths. They’ve lost over 5000 of their t-90 tanks, which is their top line military vehicle. Despite those staggering losses, they’ve won little territory to show for it, and have been largely stalemated. You can disagree with whether we should be here, but you can’t deny that Russia’s been exposed.
When do we plan to invade China, North Korea, or Iran? Their being "weak" means nothing when our own military is weakened by sending OUR munitions to Ukraine.
How many troops have we lost in Ukraine? Certainly not 120,000.
How many tanks? By last count, 20. Against over 5000. I’ll take that all friggin’ day.
So not only do we lose the value of those weapons we send, we also have to go farther in debt to replace them and replenish or strengthen our own supplies. The U.S. is paying TWICE to defend one dictatorship from another one.
No we aren’t. We’ve effectively neutralized the Russian army from any realistic effort by them to be any sort of aggressor.
You don't fight wars over "humiliation." Wars are fought because one country wants something the other one has.
Wrong. Wars are fought for many more reasons beyond desire for something someone else has.
Putin is KGB. He does NOT humiliate. He is a cold blooded killer and he will do what it takes to achieve his goal.
He will have to do it with 120,000 less troops and 5000 less tanks now, won’t he?
How many American soldiers should we send to Ukraine to die or be maimed for THEM?
None. We are accomplishing a geopolitical goal without risking our own troops. That’s a win all day.
You fools want to defend Ukraine's border while at the same time wanting OUR borders to disappear.Don’t shift the goalposts now. It isn’t my fault that you haven’t researched any of this.

Where are you getting your numbers from? If Russia is kicking Ukraine's ass so bad, Ukraine doesn't need any more of our weapons or money, do they?
Russia has 144 million warm bodies to send to war (of course we subtract children, the handicapped, and the elderly from that number. Ukraine has only around 39 million before we subtract the same ineligibles from that number. Both sides employ women in combat. Russia wins a long-term war of attrition, unless Ukraine starts importing warm bodies from foreign nations. Thanks to China, Iran, and N. Korea, Russia is in no danger of running out of tanks, planes and other war materiale'.
No, Putin doesn't have to do ANYTHING except to keep fighting for what he wants in Ukraine. The only way to stop him is to kill him.

Your right. Got my Sonics mixed up. I like the chili cheese dog with onions on top at Sonic.Way back in he late 90's we had Sonic expand into Winter Haven. They opened a location across the street from our office building so it was quickly a favorite for us to grab lunch on busy days. My first time through the drive through I was happy to discover they had, I can't remember what they called it, but what was called a "frito pie" at A & W when we were kids. A bag of fritos cut down the side and filled with chili and onions. I got that four or five times he first several weeks they were open and then the bastards took it off the menu.

Don’t shift the goalposts now. It isn’t my fault that you haven’t researched any of this. Where are you getting your numbers from? The United States government. The Ukrainians (which I look at with a jaundiced eye) put the total at closer to 3/4 of a million. The BBC as of two months ago put their estimate at over 70,000.If Russia is kicking Ukraine's ass so bad, Ukraine doesn't need any more of our weapons or money, do they?
I think you meant to state your question the other direction…but the answer is that they’re inflicting such heavy casualties on the Russians is because we (and European allies) are supplying them with the weaponry.
Russia has 144 million warm bodies to send to war (of course we subtract children, the handicapped, and the elderly from that number. Ukraine has only around 39 million before we subtract the same ineligibles from that number. Both sides employ women in combat.
So what? Not all soldiers are created equal, and when I discuss battle deaths of Russian soldiers, we aren’t talking about the dregs of the military. These are their front line troops. The best they had.
Russia wins a long-term war of attrition, unless Ukraine starts importing warm bodies from foreign nations. Thanks to China, Iran, and N. Korea, Russia is in no danger of running out of tanks, planes and other war materiale'.
But, they are. While I agree that Russia likely wins a long war of attrition, it will take them years to replace what they’ve lost, and as of now, Russia is hobbled as a fighting force. Not to mention the reality that Iran and North Korea, absent nukes, don’t pose a major threat. China is the only country that has any realistic capabilities in a worldwide conflict against the U.S. and its allies, and it can’t project much strength over the entire globe. And now that it sees that Russia is a paper tiger, it will be leery.
No, Putin doesn't have to do ANYTHING except to keep fighting for what he wants in Ukraine. The only way to stop him is to kill him.
Putin didn’t get this far by being an idiot. He understands that even if he wins this Ukrainian war, whatever that means, he’s lost a lot of clout and projected (and actual) strength.
And you’re right, the only way to stop him is to kill him, so if he keeps attacking neighboring states in an effort to reclaim the previous USSR borders in a bid to threaten US hegemony in the world, he should be killed.
