Wowzer, what an SEC tournament so far by the Gators!:
1. Beat Arkansas 66-60 to advance to the quarterfinal. It's evenly split in the media that this game put UF in the NCAA tourney or that UF would need to beat LSU in the quarterfinal.
2. Beat LSU 76-73 rallying from 10 down at half, 35-25, to have Andrew Nembhard hit a 3 with 1.2 seconds on the clock for the win. LSU is the #1 SEC tourney seed and a 2 or 3 seed in the NCAA tourney. The Gators took 2 of 3 from LSU splitting 2 OT games with both winning away and then the barn burner today that was tied at 73 until Nembhard hit his game winning shot. The win put UF at 19-14 in the NCAA tourney.
Next Up: UF will face the winner of Auburn/South Carolina in the semifinal on Saturday. I do have a preference. I'd rather the Gators play Auburn. South Carolina is deep and more physical than most everyone in the nation. Because of that physical, the refs tend to let the cocks get away with murder. UF can beat them, but at what price physically. The Gators are already down for the season with the loss of Keith Stone so UF can't afford another front court injury. Auburn is more of an up and down race horse team. I don't know that UF can keep up in the scoring department, but I don't fear someone getting injured in that game.

AU 65 UF 62 in SECT semifinal. UF should have had Nembhard on the FT line shooting 3 FTs, but the refs swallowed their whistles on 3 AU players who mugged Nembhard when he went up for his 3 PT shot.
AU actually did UF a favor. There is no way the Gators were going to be Tennessee in the SECT final. The extra rest and practice will be good for the Gators. It didn't hurt UF's #10 seed either.
Next Up: GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida's NCAA Tournament tipoff time has been decided, with the national networks announcing the start times late Sunday evening.
No. 10 seed Florida will tip off against No. 7 seed Nevada at 6:50 p.m. ET on TNT to start the evening session on Thursday night in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Gators and the Wolfpack were matched up in the first round, with the winner set to advance to take on the winner of No. 2 Michigan and No. 15 Montana.
If UF is fortunate to get by a bigger Nevada team which I doubt as a good big team will usually beat the good small team, Michigan will be waiting to drum the Gators out of the tournament.
