Jen Rocha accepts same position and title at Oklahoma: www.gatorsports.com/2018/07/uf-softball-assistant-rocha-accepts-position-at-oklahoma/I'm not sure what to think about a lateral move unless it is part of a succession plan for OU HC Patty Gasso. Jen Rocha and Tim Walton jointly built the UF program into the success that it is today. It's sad to know UF will be using the new stadium and facilities in 2019 and Jen Rocha won't be a part of it. |

The rich get richer, again: www.gatorcountry.com/feature/florida-gators-softball-lands-minnesota-transfer/The transfer two-time B1G player of the year will likely start at catcher as she is eligible for 19 plus she still has 2 years of remaining eligibility. This makes a second big transfer in since the end of the 18 season. Kelly Barnhill and Natalie Lugo need a 3rd pitching arm to develop on the staff as I don't think Katie Chronister has what it takes to compete at the top of college softball. With the returning players, the true freshman, and the additions of the 2 highly regarded transfers, UF 2019 has set itself up to compete at the highest levels of college softball. The new stadium with new facilities will be excellent new additions as well. Baseball won't play in its new stadium until the 2020 season. Once McKethan Stadium is torn down, that site will be used for a new football and training facility. |

Good start for the Gators in the USF Invitational:
Florida 15 Illinois State 0
Florida 6 Michigan 0
Florida 3 Arizona 2
The Gators are ranked #5 while the wolverines are ranked #14 and the wildcats are ranked #6.
UF closes out today in Tampa with games against North Carolina State and South Florida.
UF's first 2 games in their newly renovated softball stadium will be televised on the SEC Network+ on Tuesday night against the Japan National Team and on Wednesday night against North Florida. Both games will be at 6 PM EST.

UF beat NC State and South Florida to advance to 5-0.
The Japan National Team, considered to be the first or second best softball team in the world, spanked the Gators 8-0 in an exhibition.
UF beat North Florida 3-1 to advance to 6-0.
