I'm looking forward to seeing the makeup of this years squad, game is on at noon___no beer for me today, just nachos and salsa with a diet pepsiThey are so so young this year. Loving is a junior and he's the only upper classman. I've heard good things about Lyle. I think Williams and bates-diop are poised to have break out years. How much production can we get from the bigs like Thompson? Lyle and Tate had good first halves__Diop had a nice few buckets and Giddens had a thunder alley-oop dunk__but it is just st marys, so we'll find out how this group plays together in Conference play. UConn Women BB VS osu tomorrow night....watching that one

2nd half was not as good. Perimeter defense will need work. Nice set of raw talent this year though. And Thad gets win #300. Pretty cool accomplishment.

1. did anybody catch any of the uconn-osu women's game last night? i watched a few minutes in the first half and the last 10:00 or so in the 2nd. probably no surprise that a team who's won the last 3 ncaa titles looks so good, but wow they were dominating on offense, suffocating on defense. impressive.
2. men's team takes on grambling state tonite. nice article in the dispatch on frosh big man daniel giddens, who came off the bench sunday and put up 11 pts/6 rebounds. his physical presence, at 6'10 235, reminds me of dallas lauderdale a few years back, but more athletic and more gifted w/offensive skills. looks like giddens will get the start tonite over trevor thompson, w/david bell also getting some time at the 5. that's 3 guys who are 6'10+... i'm trying to remember the last time osu had that much potential depth at center.

Nice comeback win for them and no surprise Izzo will have the top team in the b10. The memphis game after thanxgiving will be a nice diversion before The Game vs TSUN__I wont miss that

After two pretty embarrassing effort versus Texas Arlington and Louisiana Tech, OSU is playing well against Memphis tonight. 75-75 in the last minute of the game. We're still struggling with turnovers, but the energy they've played with tonight has been impressive Plus they're proving they can shoot the ball better than previous teams. Lyle has look especially good tonight. I think he is eight out of nine from the field and has five or six assists also

Well, watching osu-uconn. Ugh it was 20-16 til the huskies ran out the half. 45-24. 7 turnovers cost about 12-14 pts. Can't guard the 3 pt line and uconn is making us pay for that. Plus, other than Tate, everyone else looks like they're in slow motion. Tough to see this group finishing in the top half of the league this year. Kyle needs to step up. So does bates-diop. Neither did much of anything in the first 20:00. At this point I'd be happy if we won the 2nd half by just 10.

Uconn shot over 60%, bucks shot about 35%. Ugh. Uconn shot 43% on 3s. Bucks shot 23%. The shooting and defense woes looked really similar to long stretches of last year. And next Saturday the competition ratchets up 10 fold. This could get even uglier unless we find a way to shoot better and defend.

No senior leadership but perhaps by when league play starts next month, they will start to gel___But first Be prepared for Kentucky to blow out the Buckeyes before a national audience on CBS next Sat.
