Austin grandstaff announced after last nights win over northern Illinois that he is planning to transfer. He played about 4-5 minutes last night and not much more at uconn Saturday. Was averaging about 12 min/game prior. He was a 3 pt threat but a reali liability on defense. That said you hate to lose a guy who can make shots. With Mitchell still awaiting baca approval on transcripts it puts Matta in a hole in terms of finding more offense.

Ohio State freshman forward Mickey Mitchell has been declared eligible and will make his season debut on Saturday against Kentucky, according to a release from the school. The 6-foot-8 Mitchell is a consensus top-150 prospect in the Class of 2015 and should give the young and depleted Buckeyes a boost this season.

Buckeyes up by 12 at halftime vs Kentucky despite going 4+ minutes without a basket....Leave Harris at point, he provided steady ball handling and screen more for loving on the perimeter...

Yes!!! 74-67___Both teams diving after loose balls. Murray from Kentucky was driving me nuts with his offense and defense. Ohio State got its signature win for the season, this should drive their confidence up

Murray is quite a special player. if a team can defend him.......some........it will be tough on KY to win games against teams with top level talent too. We pulled into bj's brew house at Polaris to take a shopping break and watch the game. Biggest ooc win I think since destroying duke 4-5 years ago at the schott. Loved the energy on both ends of the floor. Active on defense, at least half a dozen blocked shots and I think 50% (9-18) on 3's. Also very balanced scoring. 4 players in double figures and 2 other players with 9 and 8. But my god that Murray kid could not miss in the 2nd half. Bates diop just couldn't stay with him. He was impressive. You hope this serves as a springboard to show these guys how they can play. And Mickey I agree with you that The offense seems to have more juice with Harris at the controls. Of course the national view is not that OSU won but that uk lost. This wildcats team isn't near the level of last years team. But neither are the Buckeyes. Btw before today there had been 174 times when ranked uk and duke teams played unranked teams on the same day. It's the the first time both lost.

Murray turned into Stephen Curry in the 2nd half and kept UK in the game, the other UK freshman Skal Labissiere, has not lived up to the hype and was manhandled by our bigs and had only 2pts and 5 boards. Big thumbs up for Tate hitting the boards with 10 rebounds.

The 06 team comes to mind, followed by a revolving door at the center position. Thankfully OSU doesn't have a squad of "NBA ready" frosh, and we may see these kids play together and develop over the next couple of years.

Thats true__Osu has lost Oden, Koufous , and Mullens at center after one year...Lauderdale was a disappointment. Would love to have a Ken Johnson-like center though I like what Thompson did in his limited time on the court yesterday

After two pretty embarrassing effort versus Texas Arlington and Louisiana Tech, OSU is playing well against Memphis tonight. 75-75 in the last minute of the game. We're still struggling with turnovers, but the energy they've played with tonight has been impressive Plus they're proving they can shoot the ball better than previous teams. Lyle has look especially good tonight. I think he is eight out of nine from the field and has five or six assists also December 19th will be a night to forget. Feels good to be wrong.
