I vote to withdraw the game. I'm surprised you kept the game in play since the suspension was announced in advance. I'm also surprised Vegas kept the game on the board. I'm skeptical of any line being reasonable at this point. Going with 11 games this week would be fine. Also, I'm not sure if all of the players would have a chance to make a new and informed decision.

If the game is left in, I want Clemson at +20 or I want FSU at -12 1/2.

Clemson +20 at FSU - Clemson
Clemson at FSU -12 1/2 - FSU

Again, since all of the players won't get a chance to make the new decision, I'd rather see the game be withdrawn from the contest to keep the integrity of the game fair.

For future consideration:

Rule 1: Suspensions or injuries to star players announced after the game week has been posted will result in the withdrawal of the game. It keeps the integrity of the game fair for all of the participants; nobody wins, loses, or gets an advantage. Just go with one less game that week in the official totals.

Rule 2: In the absence of suspensions or injuries to star players, what gets posted on Wednesday should stay unchanged. We all win or lose with the spread that is set after a couple of days with the game having been in play in Vegas.

Rule 3: If it's known that a star player has been injured or suspended prior to the posting of game week, that game will not be selected as one of the games of the week, no exceptions.

I think the rules should be implemented starting next week. Let's put it in a new thread so everyone can have input.

The fact of the matter is, at FSU +20, given the circumstances, is not a fair line or a proper metric to base a rational decision. Technically, I believe when we all set up this deal a couple of years ago, it was agreed that one could change his picks up until 1 minute before kick off of the first game.

I can recall tinkering with that rule in letting some picks made on Friday that missed Thursdays games just be wrong on Thursdays as opposed to shitcanning the whole week. Didn't seem fair to have them automatically lose games that haven't even started. So, if I did that, it would let people change picks up until kickoff at 7:59 this evening for that game.

My point in this is that it doesn't really make for a good game. I don't want all of my games on the list to be 20-0 or 19-1, or even 18-2 in terms of player breakdowns. If it is 20-0, it might as well not be on the list. In this case, I honestly don't care if it is FSU +30 because I'd still probably take FSU out of a sense of loyalty and pride....but 19-1 isn't a very interesting game either. And for those thinking I'm doing this in my own self interest....you'll note that during every single game that has involved FSU during this contest, I have never ever ever picked against FSU. I wouldn't do so now. This game was already 16-4...with myself, CWG, Max, and MScott taking FSU.

I just think that FSU +12 1/2 with Winston out makes for a better thought process than FSU +20 without Winston. But like I said...if the consensus is that it stays, it is fine by me.

Although I would say that before the contest next year, we should have a pow-wow rules discussion to hammer these situations out in stone.

P.S. IF FSU wins by more than 20 this evening.....every single one of you can kiss my ass in Macy's window tomorrow morning.

Into this thing late but whatever you want to do Trn is fine by me. I'd change the point spread as detailed below. Though I picked Clemson, thinking most would pick fsu, I think FSU wins the game. But by how much. You generally have been fair................... for a lawyer. If you change the pts, maybe as a bone, establish the line as vegas + .5-1 pt. Seems pretty fair to me for all. In any case, I'll stay w Clemson.

Yank the game.

I don't like ET's idea. The definition of "star" player is a gray area that none of us have time to ferret out prior to the games being played. Does your star left tackle tweaking an ankle and sitting out constitute something that should make us yank the game?

If there is going to be a rule here such as that, it would have to be based on the change of the line. If, say a line changed more than...say....5 points between when Trn announces the games and the playing, for ANY reason, then yank it. If the coach is fired, for instance, or if your star linebacker's imaginary girlfriend is murdered...whatever....YANK the game.

Good post. The other thing to consider is Trn ain't getten paid to do this. Figuring out what is fair for all is thankless and time consuming. Just setting up the teams has gotta be a pain. A loving pain, perhaps, but after a certain pt, a real pain. Pick a pt change that automatically creates a game toss and move on.

Do not yank the game. We placed on bets on table at the time. The house cannot simply say that the odds aren't favorable any more and cancel the bet. Let it ride.

And what if Clemson wins the game? Even w/o their 1st team QB is there ANY way in your honest opinion that FSU isn't a fav by at least a pt? I'm not saying it'll happen but........................... it is cfb.

Given that I don't think Trn will choose to pull the original bets, I'm at 5-6 and sitting on AZ -9 while they are losing 28-6 in the 3rd quarter. It doesn't look good for extending my non-winning streak to 4 weeks.

Considering that Clemson survived the ever-moving spread, if Trn removes that game I would consider that a FREE PASS to the Nole members here for the equally PITIFUL performances we saw last night...Klemzon lost that game because of STUPIDITY....Florida got lucky...plain/ simple....
