WEEK 4 -- "Do you ever have deja vu, Mrs. Lancaster?"

Due to the late timing, and the lack of rules surrounding this week's game. I'm leaving all the games as is for this week.

But for next week, we're implementing a new rule or two to deal with all of this.

Hi. Jumping in late here.

1. Being thankful for trn running this, ultimately I defer to him as the final say on how to handle this. My hope is that any solution would be a simple one.
2. Vegas often pulls games, waiting until late in the week, especially in the nfl, when there are circumstance affecting key players. Last night's game line was fsu -10.5. An extraordinary line movement due to one player missing the game. I've never seen a 10 pt swing like that.
3. Trn does put himself out there by not just determining the slate of games but also making his picks in the same post. I guess he could,mid he wanted, just give the slate and make his picks later if he wanted to. That said, again, we all have to make picks by the Thursday night kickoff so it's not a huge sacrifice. I appreciate learning why he/anyone is going w one side or the other. That's why I like to give my thoughts too. It's fun.
4. It's fun. Let's not legislate this too much. Sometimes there's just bad luck associated with doing picks. Again, I've never seen a 10 pt swing in the line before. That's something else. It is different to have a player's suspension vs an injury leading up to or during a game. That said, if I have a vote, I'd say leave it as is. Don't make this any more of a burden to run. But I'll roll with whatever the group decides. I'm 75% wrong most of the time anyway.

Whatever the rules are will be fine. Let's get them set before game week 5. I support whatever Trn wants to and can do.

Generally, I agree. This is supposed to be a fun game.....it's not for money, it's for bragging rights. I picked CU to beat the spread specifically because of Winston's troubles...it wasn't a secret, it was a factor in my choice. Just like everything else that goes into making picks. I think it's a mistake to get into moving lines, dropping games and the like. Keep it simple....list the lines when the picks are posted and let the chips fall where they may.

After rereading the entire discussion in both threads...I recognize that I said, without meaning to, that the line was reset. The line was never reset....I hadn't made that decision. I mainly mentioned it as a possible option....at least, that was my intent.

As I said earlier...the game is final with the line being set where it was originally set. I'm making a command decision in going ahead and letting CWG and his change TO Clemson stand and he gets the point for that. I've let pick changes go in the past, so I can't go back on that now. Essentially, this affects only CWG, Mark, Max, and me...at least as to how it relates to everyone else. If at the end of the season any of those 4 has a shot or an argument for the title....we can revisit it.

But I'm putting it out there now...and I'll do a new thread about some rules on Monday. Picks MUST be in by kickoff on Thursday...even if we don't have the Thursday game on the list. Otherwise...tough shit...0-12. Granted, if your you're in a horrible accident and are unable to make picks until Friday....we can consider a special dispensation to the offender that will go to a vote.

There will be other rules....but I want that deadline out there as early as possible for everyone to read, embrace, understand, and enjoy.

I really appreciate the new ruling on tough shit 0-12 if you don't get your picks in by kickoff on Thursday. It pissed me off when people came rolling in after kickoff even though it was innocent.
