No. Let the healing begin with this effort by Biden to reach out to The Other Side, an attempt to bring us together. Yes. No president should be allowed to get away with the things Donald Trump did as president. I find both arguments compelling, but in the end, the Rule of Law has to be the deciding factor. If the DOJ decides to prosecute Trump, president Biden should let a jury of his peers decide his fate... which opens another can of gummies. Where in the hell are they gonna find 12 people whose minds haven't already been made up?

Pardon Trump? For what? Peeing on a bed in Moscow? The Mueller Report specifically listed the things for which Trump could be indicted. He left it to DOJ to make the call. Barr said no. A new AG may have a different opinion about it. IMO, the first rule for pardoning someone is to observe contrition or remorse from the person for having done the deed. We have yet to see that at this time. Even Nixon eventually admitted his errors, even if it was half-baked. (IIRC, he said something like, "I may have made some misjudgments" or some such thing). So if prosecution is to move forward, a case needs to be made, Trump gets to respond, and then Biden can decide. As a sidenote, I heard this morning that Trump has not designated anyone to represent him at the impeachment. Not quite sure what to make of that.

He's already been impeached for a second bullshit time.

Ah, sorry. I misunderstood to what you were referring. My bad. So tell the class how another sham impeachment of a beloved former President will bring "unity" to the country? How is trying to blackball former Trump aides and associates bringing "unity" to the country? What exactly ARE Demoncrats doing to "unify" the country?
NOTHING!!
They WILL unify the country to vote against them in 2022, so I can live with that.

The Constitution is clear. A trial in the senate is about REMOVAL of a President. Donald J. Trump is not President so there can be no removal. Unity? SUCK MY DICK. This is only about revenge.

Nobody expects Mutt and Fred to join in, but unity requires justice and reconciliation. That needs to happen. First step: Acknowledge that an assault on the Capitol is completely unacceptable.
Say it, or there is no reason to listen to you any further.

For me, it involves the benefit, including who or, if not a human, what. But I’d get it, w/o acrimony, if you disagreed, assuming the benefit was legal. Ford took it in the shorts because he saw a thing benefit. He saw past Nixon’s charade, understood he’d take a hit. Different circumstances today, IF, perhaps. Maybe not. In any case, he, Biden, da man where the buck will stop. IF required, as a leader, you make a decision and move on. Let the dogs bark. Personally, I think Biden can do that.

In fact, in this instance, the benefit is multiplied many times if it occurs side by side with a pardon.

Fair enough I guess just not important to me in making the actual decision of this nature, which, if you stretch the definition, can happen in any organization.
