I had to explain to jodi why everyone was so lustily booing altuve all night long. lol. kwan and gimenez both had gems in the field last night. naylor fighting off 2 0-2 foul balls before stroking it to left center in the 9th to tie it. brennan went the same way to eventually win it. great crowd last night too, and the majority of us hung out for all 4 hrs. love seeing another big crowd (35k+) at the ballpark, but you just can’t keep spotting a good team big early leads, and houston was up 5-1 before the tribe started hitting. need to see bell start getting clutch hits. even tho he scuffles some great see mckenzie back on the hill. get ‘em tomorrow Tito took some at-bats away from Bell, even put Naylor in the cleanup spot...yep can't spot these guys a lead |

nice to see bell wake up and contribute. 6 straight games w/10+ hits... 10-6 over last 2 1/2 weeks... bieber back to being bieber... encouraging signs. need to keep it up on the west coast. rosario's struggles at the plate have been even worse than the team as a whole, which is saying something. bieber is only 28, but he's the vet on a very young staff. it's 2 questions really... how much does leadership trust that 1 or 2 staff anchors can emerge amongst the kids (mckenzie, allen, bibee, morris) and can you find anyone willing to part with productive bats (I think it needs to be 2 position players) for an ace like bieber. if the guards don't start trending up to above .500 toward the all-star break, I think they'll pull the switch on a deal if it's right. would also be nice to see them take the finale in san diego and end the 2 day hitting cold spell. |

Bieber is needed if they are going for a ring....according to Terry Pluto, Bieber may be gone at the trade deadline. Rosario may be gone too but we're fine without him rosario's struggles at the plate have been even worse than the team as a whole, which is saying something. bieber is only 28, but he's the vet on a very young staff. it's 2 questions really... how much does leadership trust that 1 or 2 staff anchors can emerge amongst the kids (mckenzie, allen, bibee, morris) and can you find anyone willing to part with productive bats (I think it needs to be 2 position players) for an ace like bieber. if the guards don't start trending up to above .500 toward the all-star break, I think they'll pull the switch on a deal if it's right. would also be nice to see them take the finale in san diego and end the 2 day hitting cold spell. Yep__But the Padres jumped right back in it....jose just singled and got an rbi.....up 7-5 in the 4th . at least they held on for the getaway win.
I want to see the first 3 innings from a pitching standpoint...no runs, no hits, no errors |

even though civale is the best pitcher on the roster at the moment and I love the grit he's exhibited since coming back from his core injury a couple months ago, I think the trade w/tampa for manzardo was worth rolling the dice for...
the depth of young pitching, w/what you hope is the return of 3 injured starters, is a pretty good place to be. and even though naylor and ramirez have been red hot since memorial day, the offense still needs the pop and power manzardo's bat has the potential to add. the irony of the trade imho is, had bieber been healthy, he likely would have been the one dealt. and syndergaard looked very sharp last night til he got nailed in the leg in the 6th and had to leave the game, after which the bullpen imploded. hopefully that's a very short term injury.
