Along side that, deal w mental health. 

Re your wizened European communities, note Sweden. Though not yet to the statistic level of the USA, gun violence has exploded. Why? Due to gangs and neighborhoods in disadvantaged communities. Which have been ftmp created by accepting low level immigrants from the mideast. Shooting deaths had more than doubled between 2011 and 2019 and now account for 40% of violent deaths. While the numbers are lower, the trend is disturbing to those in Sweden. The comparison is obvious.

      I don't disagree that poverty is correlated with crime, including violent crime.

      But there are, certainly, poorer countries than the U.S. with far lower gun homicide rates.

      The decisive factor in our astronomically elevated gun homicide rate is the prevalence of guns in the U.S.

      We now have more guns in the U.S. than citizens!

Sweden is your example to what restrictive guns laws do, if you have a low end section of the population, especially those that were imported, w/o historical ties to the country and its standards. Poverty and mental heath ARE the answers, unless you can spearhead an amendment. Even then, the impoverished won't turn them in.

Eliminate the poverty or those impoverished and eventually gun violence is greatly reduced. Increase mental healthcare and the drop grows. What you are left with are criminal behavior of sane, not impoverished people, where guns aren't their only tool, and the one-offs. Red herring all you want but you have one path to Australia. Like it or not.

Two words....'sample size'.
Sweden had about 300 gun incidents last year...total.
Gun related deaths stands at about 50 for the year, and while that may be a lot for them, it's an average weekend in some neighborhoods in the US.

Then the Republicon Koch SCROTUS blocked enforcement of the Voting Rights Act with their 5-4 Shelby v. Holder ruling.

GOP state legislatures promptly began to suppress voting.

We ended racial apartheid in the South.

Glad you finally figured out there is a process in place to amend the Constitution. Am well aware people differ on 2A interpretation as well as the militia reference in 2A. Am also aware of the part about the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Apparently you missed that part.
