Glad you finally figured out there is a process in place to amend the Constitution. Am well aware people differ on 2A interpretation as well as the militia reference in 2A. Am also aware of the part about the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Apparently you missed that part. I knew more about American history when I was in high school than you know now Harry. You haven't even figured out yet that JFK was getting us out of Vietnam in the fall of '63. I took a lot of advanced science courses in college, en route to medical school, but I actually majored in American Studies at Brown-- graduating magna cum laude, and winning the Gordon Rhode Dewart Prize for the top pre-med student majoring in the humanities. |

1) Our Constitution allows for amending its 18th century flaws-- like the old sanctioning of slavery and denying women and black people the right to vote. 2) Our Constitution is also subject to judicial interpretation and re-interpretation. Many Constitutional scholars, including Harvard Law grad Barack Obama, do not agree with the Koch-funded GOP SCROTUS judges blocking rational legislative gun control efforts. In fact, the vast majority of Americans don't agree with this corrupt Koch-bought SCROTUS. The intent of the Second Amendment authors was to permit the arming "well-regulated state militias"-- not yahoos who want to shoot citizens in schools and super markets. Then the Republicon Koch SCROTUS blocked enforcement of the Voting Rights Act with their 5-4 Shelby v. Holder ruling. GOP state legislatures promptly began to suppress voting. We ended racial apartheid in the South. Why do you think we can't fix our deranged gun nut crisis? I gave you the pathway to do it to equal Australia, which was you wanted. Get to work. |

My dad fought the Nazis from North Africa to Germany from 1943-45, in the U.S. 753rd Tank Battalion. The 753rd lost over 75% of their original men during WWII, and fought in several famous battles, including San Pietro and Monte Cassino, then in Operation Dragoon, up the Rhone Valley and into Germany by the war's end. My paternal great uncle, Edward N--- and his first cousin, Charles N---- fought against Germany in WWI. A lot of German Americans fought against Germany in WWI and WWII, including Dwight Eisenhower. And German Americans played an important role in defeating the Confederacy in the Civil War. If you knew anything about American history, you would know that. You probably don't even know that more U.S. citizens identify their ancestry as German than English. |
