ESPN will televise UF at USC next weekend: floridagators.com/news/2019/10/13/football-florida-south-carolina-set-for-noon-kickoff.aspxThe game is a noon EDT kickoff. I'm guessing that neither Greenard or Zuniga will play much, if any. JMHO, I'd try to win this game with what I have and try to get both Greenard and Zuniga ready for UGALY which will be after the South Carolina game and the off week. It's time for the offense to bailout the defense for a change.

Florida depth chart for South Carolina: floridagators.com/news/2019/10/14/football-gators-set-depth-chart-for-south-carolina.aspxI think having Greenard and Zuniga on there is wrong. I'd be shocked if either can or will play this week. Mullen may as well put Kadarius Toney on the depth chart even though he isn't expected back until Georgia week. On the flip side, Muschump will lie about Hylinski forcing the Gators to prepare for 2 QBs. I guess all is fair, but I'm not counting on Greenard and Zuniga.

This article nails the current state of the Gators: 247sports.com/college/florida/Article/Florida-Gators-Football-Kyle-Trask-O-line-improving-defensive-questions-UGA-looms-137288524/1. The QB position and OL are improving at the most opportune time of the season. 2. The D MUST be healthy at DE and S to play at an elite level. It didn't hurt us vs. Auburn to have Jabari out and Greenard out most of the game, but it darn sure cost us a chance at a win in Red Stick. The younger DEs must hold their lanes and LB Miller must stop overreacting by running himself out of tackles in the hole. Both backup safeties are a step down in talent to the starters, but the staff keeps rotating them in to get them coached up for the big games. 3. The D dropped all the way down to #11 in total defense. Most teams would love to be where UF is on defense, but UF isn't most teams. Auburn, LSU, and South Carolina crunched the Gators pretty good in the running game. Without Jabari and Greenard, I shudder to think what that huge UGALY OL line will do to UF. They have got to get healthy and ready to practice for the game next week. UF is now giving up 35 yards rushing more per game prior to the last 3 tough games. To have an elite defense, the Gators have to have their starters healthy. 4. While not mentioning it, Kadarius Toney should return from his shoulder injury next week too. In his absence, Jacob Copeland, a 5 star WR who was injured and out for the 18 season, has filled in nicely and is developing into quite the threat himself. He got 3 important passes, one a nifty TD, and more yardage than any other WR against South Carolina. To say the least, Copeland is a star in the making. 5. With Greenard, Jabari, and Toney back, the Gators will be as healthy for UGALY as they have been since the start of the season. With the OL coming along nicely and taking a step up to a higher level of performance plus the defense performing at an elite level, the Gators will be awfully tough to beat by anyone in the nation. The only question is can the Gators stay healthy over the next 4-5 games presuming UF makes the goal of going to Atlanta as the SEC East winner?

Cardiac Gators Under Dan Mullen? You Decide:
Eugene Frenette @genefrenette Amazing stat: Today's win at South Carolina marked the 6th time in Dan Mullen tenure that Gators have won trailing in the 4th quarter. @gatorsfb
Big game against UGALY coming up. So far, Dan Mullen is matching Urban Meyer deep into season #2, both 17-4 headed to Jacksonville. The difference is Meyer did it with a great bunch of Zooker players while, JMO, Mullen is doing a better job of coaching up a roster that isn't as deep and lost his starting QB in game 3 at Kentucky. Kyle Trask has proven to be very good being elevated from #2 and Emory Jones is doing good things with his snaps too. It's a bit like having Leak and Tebow in 2006. If the Gators can stay healthy, the sky is the limit, but that is a big if. However, nobody expected UF to go all the way in 2006 either. The Gators weren't good enough to be on the same field with #1 and unbeaten Ohio State. We all know how that turned out.

This is timely after his performance at South Carolina: floridagators.com/news/2019/10/21/football-copeland-named-sec-freshman-of-the-week.aspxJacob Copeland named SEC Freshman of the Week. This will be the first of many awards for Jacob in his UF career: "Copeland emerged as the Gators' top receiver in total receiving yards in Saturday's win, as the Pensacola, Fla. native corralled three receptions for a game and career-high 89 yards, including a career-long 37-yard touchdown reception that came in the clutch to knot the game up at 10-10 early on in the second quarter. Copeland became the fifth Gator to record multiple touchdown receptions this season, while also becoming the eighth Gator to eclipse 150 receiving yards this season." "The occurrence marks the first time since 1992 UF has had eight different players with 150-plus receiving yards."
