update on adolphus washington... authorities dismissed the misdemeanor solicitation charges against him. he pleaded guilty back in january, w/an agreement that it would be dropped if he completed a program that teach men arrested for prostitution about std's and how women are victimized, known as 'john school'. he got picked up by cpd vice squad in december after he answered an online ad and offered $100 for sex to an undercover cop at a north side motel. as embarrassing as that was, he also got suspended for his final game as a senior, the fiesta bowl win over notre dame. a tough life lesson, but i'm glad he did his penance to get the charge dismissed and wish him luck in the upcoming draft.

Got to thinking after reading that OSU holds the record with 14 drafted in the 2004(?) draft...next paragraph started with a line about good chance to tie that record, with 14 invited to the combine...How 'bout those seniors from our two-deep who didn't get invited... those Buckeyes include:
J. Boren & C. Ferris, OL. J. Greene, WR. T Schutt & J Hale, DL. LB C. Williams. K J. Willoughby; and finally B. Haynes, LS.
Will all those eligible get drafted? Do a couple of those without invites get drafted? Can tOSU set a new record? Stay tuned, folks....could get exciting.

Stay tuned, folks....could get exciting. if boren were 3 inches taller he'd be at the combine... he has all the other skills but he's so damn short as a center. could get picked up as a free agent. not sure if ferris has enough agility. schutt had so many injuries while at osu, and hale just didn't see the field enough. same for greene (although he played more at ga tech) and williams. but who knows? as for willoughby, on the pro level kickers are a dime a dozen for the most part. haynes? long snappers can have a nice career and are always needed. he may have the best shot of anyone on this list. |

Saw Marcus Marek mentioned elsewhere...didn't realize that he never played in the NoFunLeague, only three years in the USFL...anyone know why? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, as I recall, he WAS talented...

Saw Marcus Marek mentioned elsewhere...didn't realize that he never played in the NoFunLeague, only three years in the USFL...anyone know why? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, as I recall, he WAS talented... Played for Boston in the usfl. After it folded I don't remember him being in any nfl camp. He did stay and set down roots in New England. Thought he got into the fishing or lobster business. He does come back to campus for a couple games a season. He was a stud. |
