Detroit wants us and they got us. game time is 1:08pm Saturday. 70 degree weather great for baseball. Buckeyes dont play until 3:30pm so get your gear ready

Great win for the Guardindians today! Yes. that is my team name choice. excited to head up to the north coast monday afternoon for game 2. loved seeing thomas get that dinger in the 1st... he has heated up the last couple months.... and the bullpen was again nails. |

Game 2 Thru 5 innings. 0-0 was up there for game 2 sitting down the 3rd base line just beyond the home dugout. had a great view of kwan's catch that at the time saved the game. unfortunately, in the 6th when roccio doubled and stephen singled, we were saying 'send him' to try and steal 2nd to eliminate the double play. unfortunately on the next pitch fry grounded to short for a twin killing and the inning was over. unfortunately clase didn't have it yesterday. he'll be back. but you don't win a lot of games when you just have 3 hits and only 1 baserunner making it to 3rd the entire game. need to wake up the bats tomorrow. but it was a great playoff environment and, typically, pitching heavy. guards' staff did a great job, and skobul was nearly unhittable. |

Game 5 in Cleveland how often do you see a guy drill a take-the-lead, late-inning, pinch-hit 2 run dinger w/2 strikes and 2 outs, then 2 innings later lay down a safety squeeze that plates what turned out to be the winning run? just goes to show you how things can turn around, because fry had struggled the entire series before tonight. kwan went 3-5... I think he now has 8 hits in the 4 games vs detroit, jose finally drilled one, and clase hung on in the 9th. did he look lost in the dugout in the top of the 9th or what? he never sits in there between innings. lol. great great great comeback. wish I could get up to cleveland saturday, but I'm flying out tomorrow to meet my bro-in-law to go to tosu-uo. if the guards get 11 hits like they did tonite, they win. (duh-ha) |

Tough task ahead. they've hit him before, so it's not like that hasn't happened. should take some confidence in seeing him once just a few days ago. it's way past time to clinch a series at home. just like the 11 straight elimination game losses, I think the last time cleveland won a series at home was vs the yanks in '97, wasn't it? Gonna be a little tougher for some to cheer this time...I hope we're as lucky as we were last Saturday with the outcomes, tho... (Just in case anyone might be wondering...The BUCKEYES have priorities on my TVs...although if I can convince Sharon to go visit our daughter, I have the Big wide screen on the East wall of the living room, and the next biggest wide screen on the West wall of the Ohio State room...with our floor plan, I can stand in the hall/foyer of our house and have both on at the same time) |
