How a Blue-Collar Billionaire From Queens Became a Man of the People Todd Starnes AP Photo/Evan Vucci President Trump announced that he will usher our great nation into the Golden Age. And he will do so with an indisputable mandate from the American people. And I never doubted it – not once. Many in the conservative world were dismissive of my optimism. I predicted weeks ago that Trump would win – and he would win bigly. Some called me foolhardy. Others delusional. But I tend to be a pretty good reader of people. I’m not an Upper East Side pundit or an Inside-the-Beltway politico. My roots are blue collar. Grew up in the Southern states. Had to work my way through school. I go to church on Sundays. I was raised to say yes ma’am and no sir. I was taught to respect our flag and honor our military. God. Country. Family. Those were the values by which I was guided. But over the past four years – those values have been under assault by the left. Foundational values for our Republic. I actually discussed these matters with Trump directly in my book, "Twilight's Last Gleaming: Can America Be Saved?" The Justice Department was literally weaponized to take down President Trump, his administration and his supporters. Pro-lifers were subjected to the most outrageous behavior. Jack-booted thugs – knocking down the doors of their homes. Guns drawn – pre-dawn raids. Heather Idoni is a 75-year-old grandmother. She was sent to federal prison for two years. Her crime was to pray and sing hymns outside an abortion clinic. Parents who raised concerned about the transgender movement got visits from FBI agents. Same thing happened to law-abiding gun owners. The military was caught red-handed indoctrinating officers that evangelical Christians and devout Catholics were domestic terrorists. And the FBI admitted they had infiltrated Roman Catholic parishes – trying to recruit priests to spy on the congregation. Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon were sent to federal prison because they refused to testify before the J6 committee. Four months in jail – contempt of Congress. Make no mistake – those two men were political prisoners of the Biden/Harris administration. Punished because of their allegiance to Donald Trump. Young men in America have been especially put upon – told their masculinity was a genetic defect. The Left mentally neutered an entire generation – turning red-blooded American guys into effeminate soy boys. The Democrats' idea of masculinity is Tampon Tim Walz and Dougie, the guy who knocked up the family's nanny. The media is in full-blown attack mode. They still don’t understand that their behavior – their allegiance to the Democrats – was partly to blame for the downfall of the Left. I will give credit to The New York Times, though. Opinion writer Bret Stephens said he voted for Harris – but blamed the Democrat Party for the loss. Calling them a “Party of Prigs and Pontificators.” The Democrat Party abandoned their supporters – leaving them alone in war-torn Washington, D.C., to weep and gnash their teeth. How unkind of Kamala. How ungracious. Nobody likes a sore loser. Over the years, they've called us Nazis and xenophobes and fascists. The governor of New York called us anti-Americans. They mocked blue-collar workers. They demeaned people of faith. They called us ignorant – garbage. But President Trump, the blue-collar billionaire from Queens, called us his fellow countrymen. And today – we call him president-elect. townhall.com/columnists/t

I'd bet the farm that Donald Trump never worked a single minute at a blue collar job in his entire life. Not a single minute. What a freakin' insult to anyone who did, or does.

Now you're insulting me. He doesn't ID with anyone who does that kind of work. Just stop it.

Blue collar, particularly hands-on, physical, blue collar labor has meaning that, unless you've done it, you would have a hard time understanding.

Or what he did as a young adult. He was pro American worker and anti NAFTA and anti letting China into the WTO for decades going back to when I thought both were good ideas. He was right and I was wrong. It was the those you describe who were Trumps base of support

But the term, used as a description could apply, much the same as they use the term "lunch pail type of player" to describe some athletes. In essence The All Madden Team. Blue Collar Players. Though guys making $5-55MM per yr playing sports will hardly be mistaken for $50M/yr sheetrockers. But those sheetrockers sure attach themselves to these athletes. Ya they play FB like I hang rock. They carry a lunch pail to work. The fact that they don't matters not.

He was the bosses' son, after all. In CFB terms, he was the Arch Manning of NY real estate, hardly the kind of player Madden had in mind.

Thanks again. <shrug> For me, the term "blue-collar" is generally, today, metaphorical, and it's not a description of typical present apparel or job. That you may not think it applies to Trump's work product is OK by me. That others do is also OK by me. My intrusion was more aligned w the term, today, has a wider application than the type of work or apparel. Harry Truman may have been a Blue Collar POTUS but he wasn't ever a blue collar worker. Not for a second.

Trump is NOT blue collar. He's orange, and being orange doesn't make him redneck. All he's about is the green. And the silver spoon he was born sucking on.
Oh, and he's a yellow bellied coward, too.

Though he sometimes worked in the fields from time to time, he was never a regular part of the farm work force, most say. He'd do this and that. Oversee a lot.
