It's lung cancer. Interesting twist: May have spread from skin cancers, of which I have had probably a dozen cut off in the past 30 years. So it may be that sun damage because of love of the ocean and surfing is the thing that kills me. Who knew? Anyway, meeting with Onco-guy today and radiation guy Weds.

Sorry to hear that you have cancer, but you seem to have a good head on your shoulders. Hopefully, you will have the strength and courage to get through this.

I've been praying over this everyday my friend. I will continue to do so without fail. My prayer list is getting pretty long these days... Just found out last night that my best friend from church got the results from some routine blood work and his doctor called immediately and wants bone marrow testing done. His red cell count is extremely low. 67 years old. Walter, I'm still going to pound you out in the forums... Gotta keeps things as normal as possible.

I'll be praying for you. Hang in there, cuz. We're only a week apart, and we're both too young to go anywhere. Even the Devil don't want me till I simmer down some.
My dad was susceptible to skin cancer, and I've had one cut out so far, with other small ones burned off. Only on my left arm which spent years hanging out of police car windows. I totally avoid the sun now, and my legs are white enough to look dead, but so far I'm not.
People have been warned for years about sun damage, but the tanned look is still advertised as sexy and healthy. It isn't.
Hopefully they have caught it early enough. Remember, in 1964, John Wayne had his entire left lung and 4 ribs removed because of lung cancer. 5 years later he was cancer-free, and this was BEFORE the medical advances we have now. He made it another 10 years before stomach cancer got him in 1979. He also is said to have coined the euphemism "Big C." Anyway, things now are much more advanced, so one you beat this, you'll be around a LONG TIME.
The Democrats and illegals need you!!

UPDATE 2
Met with Onco-guy, whose team was certain that this was smoking related since I checked"smoker" in the Qnaire, until I told him I never smoked other than a few cigars a week in the summer months. In addition, initial test showed it is not smoking related, and that has them spun out. He claims it is virtually unheard of for skin cancer to spread to the lungs. They've ordered new tests to figure out WTF it might be because it drives the chemo recipe.
Meanwhile, I don't really GAS what it is, only that they beat the shit out of it ASAP.
I meet radiation guy Weds to get busy shooting me up in the spine area that started all this shit. They don't know for sure what that growth is either now that the smoking thing that made sense before has now blown up, but as it is inoperable, radiation followed by chemo is the only way left to go.
I was thinking of BaM today as I underwent a brain MRI to make sure it has not spread there.

That’s one of the issue when filling out medical forms...once something is logged in incorrectly it can follow you everywhere. You’re very lucky the “smoking “ thing was caught...otherwise your treatment would have been greatly impacted. Good luck moving forward.

Memo to BaM... I sit here waiting for an MRI of my brain, and there is talk of a PT scan. Can you forward me the application into the club? I want to be ready if it happens. Thanks in advance. odd that a skin cancer spreads to the lungs, however melanoma can show up anywhere, and really has nothing to do with the sun. did they give a class of what cell is cancerous? Basil, Squamous, are the most general of the "skin cancers" Melanoma is listed as such also. Small cell, non-small cell are the two most common lung cancers. best advice i can give you at this point is to try to rebuild your own immune system that was supposed to keep these things in check. It wont do anything for the cancer, but may protect the other remaining cells from wanting to become cancerous. there are 5 steps of displaysa in a cell from normal to cancerous. NAC Reduced Glutathione Alpha Lipoic Acid Calcium -D- Glucarate you might even check with your onco, if there are any stage 1-2-3 trials with any of these included with the chemo if you wanna talk about the chemo and radiation parts of this, message me for my phone #, and a time of day that you may call (due to all the robo calls i get) been going through some type or other chemo/radiation for over 20 years now

They assumed it spread to the spine, but did not biopsy spine. Now they are not so sure. They are looking at the lung biopsy now for protein markers that would label the primary as skin and not lung. Don't know it that would be better or worse. I can't wait to hit my 20th anniversary of chemo/radiation. Onco-guy gave me 3 yrs, tops. Clay Helton needs to get his shit together, pronto.
