Would have been a blast. Too bad KC couldn’t get over the hump with the Yankees at least one of those years. The 2nd year they had it and Whitey got too cute. Dennis Leonard had dominated the Yankees all year. Went into the 9th in the final game with the lead and instead of using the close, Mark Littel, he brought Leonard in. I think it was 2 days rest and the first relief appearance ever for Leonard and they got him. Gave up the lead and then Littel comes in and shuts them down cold. Herzog didn't make a lot of mistakes but that one was a biggie. Not the White Rat’s best day. 😂😎 |

Cantillo is pitching perfect thru 6 innings now.... what a great performance by joey. but the bats still need to awaken. bases loaded in both the 5th and 6th, each w/nobody out and I think just 1 run scored thx to a walk by noel. 1-14 w/runners in scoring position last night. no way that should’ve been close by the 9th. |

Felt like playoff baseball last night in a 5-4 extra-innings win___Gimenez is the best fielding 2B since Roberto Alomar. He makes all of the routine plays and he frequently makes the the difficult plays look routine. He probably saved two runs with his glove.
